Villa dedicates goal to reina & Maschareno wins it for liverpool!

Villa scored a sensational goal to give Barcelona a 3-1 lead at Wembley and end Alex Ferguson's hope of lifting a third European Cup.

Afterwards the 29-year-old dedicated his finish to the daughters of close pal Reina.

"I couldn't be happier," said Villa "It's a fantastic result for us in what is such an important stadium in our club's history.

"I dedicate it to all my family, my daughters and also Pepe Reina's, who are like my nieces."

Reina's wife Yolanda gave birth to their first son last week.

Villa's touching dedication comes after teammate Javier Mascherano - who left Anfield last summer - also mentioned Liverpool in his post-match interviews.

He told the TV cameras: "I know some Liverpool supporters were disappointed after my exit, they were a little bit sad with me, but this is for them."

seems to me if u believe what macherano said after the game was genuine you will believe owt,he went to barca to win silverware (for himself first and foremost). at the time he left a sinking ship.you could be of the opinion that in a way he was rubbing your noses in it. cause you have been a bit lacking in that department lately haven't you..unlike michael owen who won a premiership title medal with the nineteen times winners and didn't patronise you with any comment as he did.

Thats cause Michael Owen went to manchester united and understood that his comments would be overlooked and never mentioned again by liverpool fans, He who betrays will allays walk alone, Don't get me wrong owen was a liverpool legend, But he spoiled it for himself, Not 1 liverpool supporter contributed to the respect we lost for him, He done it himself.

Mascherano went to barcelona to win silverware, Darn right he did, But he had the decency to stay away from liverpool rivles, and he done us a big favor by helping barca to a victory.

Personally I smell a bit of jealousy that barca players refer to liverpool FC at a time of victory

no just my honest opinion,at least he did win some silverware,thats what appeals to top sportsmen most, oh and the cash comes in handy as well.i bet he couldn't get out of liverpool quick enough when the deal was done.

we are no way a better team than 2008 we lost ronaldo tevez and all our players are 3 years older

the EPL has declined last few seasons which is why the bottom clubs are winning more games

chelsea are a worse side too since 2008 in which i belive was our leagues peak we have all slowly declined since

the fact that we won the league with our ageing squad is proof of this if needed


but in general i dont think we have as much talent in europe anymore i think standard in the next 10 20 years will drop further kids are too lazy now

Yeah yet still pay stupid wages to players who are average at best. I just saw Spurs say they would want 50 million for Bale. He's ok but he's not even a 20 million quid player. Football in England has gone MAD!

Look at suarez, 25 million he cost ( ball part figure ) and we payed 35 for Andy Carrol, Suarez is much better than Andy in my opinion!

~~~~ Mascherano he left when the club needed him the most. But it worked out good for Liverpool cause he turned out to be a overpriced hack.now i don't cringed everytime he slides in a little late hoping he is not showed a red. I always find it funny when ex Liverpool players talk about the club it shows they miss playing for the club.
