BBC - Jim Spence: Team GB shirt not a neat fit for Scots

Apparently the Scottish are not happy about a British football team playing in the olympics, as they fear that they be stripped of being a seperate national team and only one team from the british isles will be able to participate in future footballing events..
what do dk members think of this?
I personally dont see what they're worrying about as only one team from the british isles goes to international footballing events anyway

How many none english players would get into the team on merit, Gareth Bale/Ramsey from wales cant think of any n/irish, Fletcher from scotland , it would be a farce, just england with one or two others the scots ,irish welsh would be better of giving the own players a run out in there own teams.Dont blame them giving it a miss.

thought he did well last season, cant think of any other scots that would get anywere near it, possibly the lad from wigan but even then is he worth a place , since big dunc they havnt had anybody

dont forget its the euro's next year so i cant see many of the england players playing both, so team gb might involve more irish/scots/welsh than you would think plus the odd player for novelty factor like beckham.

it'll be mostly under 21's so a lot of players available

dont think its a good idea the whole of britain showing themselves up at a football tournament

I think it would be a good thing British players getting to put a team together, looking at the Premier League they don't get many games playing with fellow Brits.
