The thing that pisses me off about this racism crap is what makes it any worse than abusing someone for being fat or stupid etc. I'm sure Wayne Rooney gets his fair share of abuse but it rarely makes the papers. In fact it's looked on as a joke in some papers. It's about time everyone took a chill pill. You can make people stop saying things but you'll never stop them thinking them or acting on them behind your back.

racism is a bigger issue then the normal abuse, and yeah maybe you can't stop people thinking like that, but you can do something about making them air their feeling publicly. Terry deserves to be punished it will make other players think before they open their mouth

The thing about "racism crap" is that its not the same as calling someone a fat whatever. I've never seen 'fats out' on a wall, I've never heard 'go back to where you come from fatty' , or 'go home fatty', I've never heard of adverts saying 'fats need not apply', I don't see many fat-ist attacks reported on the news, I don't see that fat people get stop and search disproportionately, although I'm sure it may exist I don't hear to much of hate crime directed towards fat people. And in terms of history, has anything happened to fat people on mass, just purely for being fat?

I think you'll find plenty of people with eating disorders some of which do kill them brought on by bullying over their weight and I'm sure some people suffer depression over racism again which could lead to them topping themselves.

When the press talk of racism they highlight how bad it is for the victim yet when they talk about fat people all they do is advertise diets etc. As I said though there are hundreds of ways people are abused not just over colour, race, weight, intelligence etc. It just appears that like Aids the press have jumped on this band wagon as it's backed by celebrities etc it's blown out of proportion. If they really wanted to target the biggest culprit they should hit religion. Probably the biggest killer out there.

We'll have to agree to disagree I think. I personally can't stand any form of racism, so I think it is pretty important in today's society.

I agree with religion causing certain problems, but even that can be linked to racism of course. If the majority of people in the Muslim religion were white Europeans do you think there would be the same amount of bigotry that there is in this country re Muslims?

The bigger issue here is since when has calling somebody black been racist?

If it was peter crouch and terry called him a lanky c*nt......is that racist?

It's an observation of somebody's appearance. If Anton had robbed your house you'd tell the copper he was black......would you not?

If Ferdinand had called Terry a 'f*cking white c*nt' would the police have got involved? No they wouldn't and that's why the whole thing is ridiculous. Racist allegations are too easy to band about now and it usually results in the accused being ripped to shreds by the media before even being found guilty.
