Must admit what a strange fight to pick. Even allowing for Barreras age and lack of fitness a very dangerous fight. Khan will need to improve tenfold defensively or he will be in deep trouble.

Hamed ended his own career when his ego got too big, he got rid of Ingle and stopped preparing for fights and instead relying too much on his KO power. That was not a prime Naz in the ring with MAB.

Also Naz did comeback for one fight after the MAB loss but with all that money in the bank and little motivation he soon retired.

Give it a rest Alun. You obviously like to gloss over the fact that a lazy badly prepared Hamed went 12 rounds with MAB. How many other fighters could do that ? Yes it was his own fault but the fame and riches got to his ultra ego.

Also he did not have such a bad record and anyone claiming otherise shows they lack real boxing knowledge.

Just a brief look at his resume would show you that :

          Steve Robinson - ring#3 - hadn't lost in more than 2 1/2 years
Manuel Medina - ring #9 (was #3 only 6 months ago)
          Tom Johnson - ring #1 - hadn't lost in 6 years
          Kevin Kelly - ring #5 - hadn't lost in nearly 3 years
          Wilfredo Vasquev - ring #4 - hadn't lost in nearly 3 years
          Ceaser Soto - ring #5 - hadn't lost in 3 1/4 years
          Vuyani Bungu - ring #4 - hadn't lost in 8 years
          (mattmattmatt @ eastside)

WBC & WBO never in a month of Sundays
Again shows any real lack of boxing knowledge. Warren bought the WBO to the UK and got them recognised by the BBBC (british boxing board of control). If Warren can deliver anything then it is a WBO belt. He does not bother with any of the other belts as he is well in with the WBO. Also the WBO are an upstart and not some major boxing org. They were laughed at in the 1980's just like the WBF, IBO, WBU, IBC are laughed at today.

I am surprised by the comments made how they wanna see Amir Khan loose, either you guys are not british or you see different colour in Amir Khan, rather then talking positive about him, all I see is hate and negatavity. Sad to see that.

I would love to know what Khan and his team are thinking taking such a fight after the recent defeat on his first Pay Per View event by the undefeated Columbian Breidis Prescott afer only a few minutes.

Khan I am sure will not last very long with a fighter such Marco Antonio Barrera, I see this as only madness and the end of Amir Khan to the record books.

unless its a fix like his first pro fight against the Cuban gold medallist

Barrera was cut in his recent fight so this fight may be called off.

Barrera will sort Khan in max 3 rounds , even if he'd been training in bargain booze for the last 3 months !
Khan can be handy but Barrera's a destroyer , even given his age .

I remember watching the barrera/hamed fight...
I have no idea how small i was then but all i can really remember is that guy who officially pronounced the winner roll his tongue whilst saying barrera
Amir had a good name until his loss and now hes doing this..
