    Celtic fined for illicit chanting

No appeal either, so what are Celtic actually doing to rid the ground of fans who promote/advertise TERRORISM?

It seems Celtic are fined continuously for this, yet nothing is done about it to stop/ban/charge fans who obviously break the law.

FIFA/UEFA should make Celtic play home games behind closed doors, it is the only way they will learn, or make them play in the ROI league.

Promote terrorism ? How do you arrive at that conclusion ? Do the British promote Terrorism when they sing Rule Britannia ?As far as I am aware, those individuals guilty of breaking any rules are banned from the club, what would you suggest ? Hang draw and quarter them!

can you point out another occasion when Celtic were fined for this ? I doubt you can as this is the first instance ever cited against the club, Celtic were as surprised as anyone when they were charged with the alleged offence. A bit of mischief making on your part here.

And what league should they place Rangers in for similar offences, of which there have been many !

UEFA awarded Celtic fans "The Fair Play Award" in 2003 those fans received the award whilst singing the same songs (and more) they are now being fined for, the truth is UEFA have fallen into the trap of believing the media hype and lie of the Old Firm, one is as bad as the other line, and are trying to balance the book.

    ps

As much as chanting for the IRA is not liked, simple facts are its not sectarian.

UEFA felt the need that they had to do something and bottled it.

Are we now going to fine Scotland for singing the flower of Scotland for being offensive to the English or God save the Queen?

The chanting that goes on in Spain and Italy is a whole lot worse but are they dealt with in the same way?

Lets get another thing out of the way before this degenerates into the usual shoite and gets locked. I see no place in a football stadium for chanting songs about the IRA, just as I see no place for singing about the UDA et al, or Rule Britannia nor any other political chant/song there is no need for it, but you cannot award fans for such singing and then decide you no longer like it, if it was ok in 2003 why is it not ok now ?

UEFA are a law in to their own, they have so many grey areas its unreal. It's easier to fine.smaller clubs as they see it than the bigger teams.

Wether we like it or not, the political madness that surrounds the old firm is what makes the two clubs.

I for one enjoyed the 90 min hatred.

For one who posted about Celtic & Rangers threads "bringng the forum down" I'm puzzled as to why you have started a thread like this off? Or maybe trying to dig a wee bit of sh*te???

Skegs you answered the ill-informed (at best) points well. I suggest the original poster does a wee bit more homework before making such statements in future.. I wonder what league he thinks Barca and Athletic Bilbao should play in???

Come off it rodbouy. chanting i i ira is not sectarian? wtf theses terrorists are guilty of the most horrible sectarian murders ever carried out. Kingsmill massacre ten protestant workmen lined up against a minibus and shot for being protestants. Celtics supporters deserved to be punished. Its just ufea is more informed of some of the bile they spout than they were in 2003.

Well they have been charged again for an illegal banner and lighting fireworks/flares. Its strange though cos European teams supporters light fireworks/flares all the time yet NOTHING is done.

For the record...Celtic have banned the so called supporter for life (who had the banner).

Also for the record...although technically chanting pro IRA songs is not sectarian...it most certainly is offensive but lets be honest...what clubs supporters do not wind each other up.

IMHO...Uefa are only fining Celtic cos the fined Rangers...and they have to be seen to be unfair against all British clubs, if you are an Italian team who's supporters kill a cop...then you let the Italian FA deal with it with a one match ban....yeah thats a real incentive to stop it.

                btw...I hate Celtic..........
