Completely agree. If you want to achieve your full potential then you move to a big club.

Shearer WAS a mercenary because he chose Blackburn over United for money reasons. Chris Sutton's the same. He wanted to join Arsenal, but his agent made him talk to Blackburn to get an offer of silly money to use as a bargaining chip with Arsenal to get more money out of them. Blackburn did offer him silly money and he took it.

If either of these players were going to move for footballing reasons they would've gone to United and Arsenal over Blackburn anyday.

not strictly true m8 blacburn won it in 1995 but if eric didnt kick some ~~~~er in the head im sure united would have won the league that year


what a player though and will always be a legend for united but its still scholes for me cantona only played a few seasons in the epl and the one at leeds was befor the epl started,but he is one of the main reasons the epl is what it is today

for me very hard to name one player but for me no surprise eric cantona even though compared to some players like giggsy/scoles and more who have been around the epl consistent year in year out he had that flair/spark /genius that just made him that bit more special
