great result yesterday whilst not getting carried away we're playing some nice football ,the new players are starting to show a bit of form thought downing had a great game (not bad for a kick it and run player)hopefully we can carry on after the international break

Liverpool are looking superb.

However....there should be NO immediate place for Gerrard when fit or Carragher either. I know these guys are legends, but I cant see a slot for Gerrard, as Adam , Henderson and Kuyt are fantastic together, and Carra is easily replaced.

Gerrard is the key for the team. If you think Liverpool is playing good now wait til Gerrard laces the boots up again. Don't worry you can sit Downing and you wouldn't miss him.

well said wolfpack how can you leave Gerrard out hes the heartbeat of that team, its an asset to have him in the team then without. But i wouldn't leave Downing out id leave Hendo out Downing, Gerrard n Adam supplying the likes of Suarez, Kuyt n Carrol

Another good win A great start to the season which is a great turn-around from recent years. The team look like they are gelling together nicely with the new players. Hopefully this will be a season to remember

btw i agree with somebody i dont know who mentioned it but if the team is winning gerrard carragher or whoever should only get back in the team on merit past form counts for nothing in football otherwise wed still play bobby charlton

and gerrards been past his best now for a couple of years if he wants his place back he has to earn it

Yes Gerrard may have to earn his place back in the side, but even at 50% Gerrards 100% times better then Adam n Hendo. Gerrards the driving force in that team hes the heart n soul of it, when the chips are down hes the one that can take the game in his grasp and turn it on its head. Id play Gerrard Adam n Downing leaving Hendo on the bench them 3 supplying service to Suarez or Carroll = more chances and more goals from all areas.

Gerrards had alot of pressure on his shoulders these past few seasons we've been a team of Torres n Gerrard n when Torres was injured which was alot everyone looked to Gerrard for the goals. Now we have more goalscorers in the team he will feel like some of that pressure is released which will help his game. Captain fastastic is ever hungry to get back playing and hes so looking forward playing alongside Suarez who wouldn't be excited at that prospect......YNWA

Seems like a reasonable statement to me so i dont understand the head scratching !

When in seasons past could you realistically see Gerrard or Carra fighting for their place ?
thered is correct there will be no free rides offered out by the return of the king and form not reputations is how his Liverpool team will be picked.
They will have to fight to be in the first team and that's positive is it not ?
Good bit of depth now in Liverpools squad like I have said before but it seems someones status as a United fan makes a post unworthy of reading the content correctly.
