Ok lets be fair it was never a red card nor a yellow in my opinion, but they could have been down to 9 men had the ref seen Hibberts challenge on Adam, plus i expect the FA to punish the club for failing to control the fans with all the coins n bottles being thrown.

id rather Fabio not pick Stevie or Kelly for that matter we need them for the scum and i don't want them picking up injuries on a International game when Eng have more or less qualified. They've done ok without Gerrard im sure they can for 1 more fixture

I wouldnt put it past him to start Gerrard, lets just wait and see, Kenny will no doubt convince him.

Well after my defense of Downing earlier in the thread i think i was made to eat my words .He had a terrible game .Bellamy looked good as did Stevie G .I think bellamy could be a really good signing for us.I just hope carrol's goal gives his season a kickstart he looked like he lost a bit of weight but still a bit to lazy for my liking.

For us neutrals we were wringing our hands at the prospect of a cracker.. and then the ref ~~~~ed it up big time...and effectively robbed us of a proper derby game.
Yeah its epic for the pool fans who have the bragging rights for a few months or more at the very least, but surely even the kopits would agree it was one of the most shocking referring decisions of late.

I think if you read a few posts back you will see a couple of posters saying it was a poor decision. Come on though you know ten men doesn't mean the end of the game. Many teams have gone onto win games with ten men. Shit happens and they got a player sent off but may have had two if the ref had seen the high tackle with studs leading by Hibbert

i agree Bulldog teams have gone on to win games with 10 men they usually play with no fear. I also feel Everton where still the better team in big periods of that game, its only when Gerrard n Bellamy came on when we got a grip of things and started to keep the ball more and were more threatening
