This petition will unfortunately fail. Newspapers are under no legal obligation to reveal their sources. In fact it is already known that the journalist who wrote the story got the allegations from a South Yorkshire Police press statement, which was filed to every newspaper, hence why others ran a similar story.

It was MacKenzie who decided the headline "The Truth" which is why he is so vilified.

The Sun will state, as it has done for years, that the source of the story was South Yorkshire Police. Now who wrote that piece on what orders would be worth knowing, but once again, it will have come from an already known source Chief Supt David Duckenfield.

Duckenfield ordered the opening of the gate to the already crowded centre pens, realising his mistake he fabricated a story of ticketless yobs rushing and breaking it down. A statement later described as 'fabricated' by Lord Justice Taylor in his report.

IIRC it was supposed to be an MP who gave the story and Mckenzie has always said he wouldn't name his source

          THE TRUTH
          The Hillsborough Independent Panel. 12/09/12

Today's report is black and white. The Liverpool fans were not the cause of the disaster.
The panel has quite simply found 'no evidence' in support of allegations of 'exceptional levels of drunkenness, ticketlessness or violence among Liverpool fans' and 'no evidence that fans had conspired to arrive late at the stadium' and 'no evidence that they stole from the dead and dying'.

I think we all know it was Bernard Ingham, Thatcher herself said "the police must not be blamed"..

This petition won't do anything though.. No minister can force a newspaper to reveal its source, in the same way the police can't force them.

I find it strange to organise a petition when it's obvious the end want is unachievable. The main reason the first petition was such a success is because we all knew that with the right signature numbers we could force a ministerial backbench discussion in the house of commons

Kelvin MacKenzie speaks out on Hillsborough comments | Media | MediaGuardian

Dimbleby reminded him of the allegations made by the Sun at the time: "The sub-headings said: 'Some fans picked the pockets of victims. Some fans urinated on brave cops'. Do you stand by those?"

MacKenzie replied: "Those allegations came from a Liverpool news agency and came from a Tory MP and an un-named senior police officer."

Well done Norwich could have and maybe should have won it aswell, coming to Anfield used to be a big occassion and smaller teams used to let it get to them but not nowadays. We were on top in the first 20 mins then Norwich came in to the game and looked comfortable for most of it.

They got some luck from the wood work and some poor finishing by Liverpool but credit to Norwich and Paul Lambert great start to the season for them.

We on otherhands need to improve on our finishing and concentration at the back. Why on earth wasn't Martin Kelly in the squad let alone the team. Charlie Adam didn't do much after his 1st corner of the game nor did Downing. I also think Bellamy should have stayed on the entire game he looked a real threat and Gerrard still needs games he looked far beyond his best today and LUCAS was missed, when did we ever say that?

Im going to finish on about the whole Suarez going down to easy. I have to agree he does do it alot and someone like KK or Gerrard needs to have a word, he going down like a ton of bricks with hardly any contact and then when he does get fouled he doesn't get the decision because the ref just thinks he dived. Although it's not just Suarez it's Charlie Adam aswell who goes down far too easily and did so again today but he's better at disquising it from the ref.

All in all we should be winning these sorts of games to get back in the top 4, 1 point gained is better then no points but i feel 2 points were lost

I can't belive we tied Norwich. Why is Kenny still starting Downing? I see he realize Downing sucks on the left and putting Bellamy out there was a smart choice but using Kuyt as a second striker and moving Downing to the right didn't make any sense. He should of use Carrol as the second striker and Kuyt out to the right. What was he thinking taking Bellamy out for Henderson? At the time of the change he should of bought on Carrol for Downing and Maxi for Adam. Bringing on Carrol for Downing at the 80th minute was just too late. Carrol looked very dangerous out their and i can't see why he didn't start the game. I hate to be a arm chair manager and Kenny Daglish deserves the utmost respect for everything he has done for Liverpool FC and Football in a whole but i ask as a fan of Liverpool FC what was he doing today? I'm sorry for the rant but Liverpool should of never dropped points against Norwich.

I agree they played very well but we shouldn't be dropping points to sides like Norwich and getting a CL spot won't be that easy Spurs are a big threat Harry would be happy watching us today knowing they are only 2 points behind us n have 2 games in hand over us and i wouldn't rule out Arsenal just yet either.
