I hope Liverpool don't spend any money on a striker unless he is in the class of Karim Benzma or Mario Gomez. They should just recall Carroll in January. Sturridge is not worth 20k a week. Play Carroll as the striker and swing Suarez out on the left. With Gerrard playing in the attacking role again we should see Carroll scoring.

Man City had the right idea not offering Sturridge the ?70k he wanted back then when he hadn't even done jack. He thinks he can click his fingers and get what he wants ?80k a wk and demanding to be played in strike, he doesn't deserve half of that. I hope we don't sign him especially for the rumoured ?12-15m there are far better quality players out there.

@Wolfpack your expecting too much there Gomez/Benzema you having a laugh? why would they leave there respective clubs playing in the CL challenging for league titles.

I would like to see an established quality striker and another as back up like Long plus he aint on that high wages 20-25k a week.

Carrolls injured for two months so I can't see him playing until at least February. Ive been watching his performances at West Ham and he offers very little which is grim news if we want to offload him to West Ham even big Sam probably doubting him now. The club should prepare itself to take a big hit on him think we will be lucky to get ?10m for him.....I won't even mention Henderson and Downing hmmm... also think we should have kept Dirk Kuyt always pops up with a goal especially against Utd.

I wasn't saying Liverpool try to sign those players just someone in their class. You did answer a question i asked by saying why would players like that want to leave a team playing CL football and the same is true for young talent coming to a team that won't be playing CL football. It's sad but CL football has taken over the mindset of players and top managers. All along i wish Liverpool would sign proven players even if their up in age like a Wesley Sneijder that can get us into CL spot where then Liverpool could attract world class players. The team has the money it's just their standing that is stopping players coming. Do i think this squad could get a CL spot. Yes and no and it depends if they get a proven striker and another Holding midfielder cause if Lucus or Allen get hurt it doesn't help the team having Gerrard covering for one of them.

I see what your saying but we already spent the money on Carroll and when he is fit i think all he needs is the backing of Rodgers and his confidence could come back. I wouldn't shed a tear if he doesn't come back. I just hope they don't sign some turkey come January.

Up to 10th, brilliant. We are grinding out results now. If we can get to the transfer window and get a couple of decent players in then who knows where we could end up this season.

Four Liverpool first-team stars will be holding signing sessions at the club's official stores on Thursday ahead of the start of the Christmas period.

From 4pm, Stewart Downing and Raheem Sterling will be at the Reds' Williamson Square shop for an hour to meet fans and autograph merchandise.

Then, from 5.30pm until 6.30pm, Jose Enrique and Suso will be making an appearance at the club store in Liverpool One for a signing session.
