Jeremy Clarkson made 830,000 from Top Gear - Telegraph
And good luck to him too.. his private earnings are nothing to do with his employer.. if the bbc have a problem with it, then they should hand the contract to another party..

Trust me, id be asking for a pay rise.. id milk the bbc for everything they have.. and then some.. and on the way out, id steal a ream and paper

it isn't private earnings though is it, he got the extra 830k off the back of top gear and he doesn't own the rights to top gear,
he's already getting 1 million a year salary,

But, the BBC offered a company the rights to sell the show abroad.. just happens to turn out he has 30% in that company..

Maybe just maybe he was given the contract to accept a lower wage on his salary..

We wouldnt be be having this discussion if he was on ?1.1million ??

Think you will find that wimbledon is on the goverments protected list of sports that must be shown on terrestial free television along with the open championship(golf) the Fa cup final and the grand national.

Well that can easily be changed, like it did for the Cricket, money talks as they say

It can only be good if more sports go to pay per view. It pisses me of thinking some of my licence money is paying to broadcast sports that I have no interest in, unless the profits go to every club thay is involved in that sport at a professional level. This way every club will benefit. Currently the majority of money in footbal goes to the top teams who then spend it on share holders and foreign players. We'd be up in arms if we had to give money every year to the big supermarkets at the expense of the local shops.

If it goes to pay per view at least those paying are giving their own money. The likes of the BBC can then spend the money on decent programmes that fit in with the general population and might even cut down on the repeats we see.
