it was a close fight but all khan wanted to do was run and hold and push he deserved to lose then wanted to moan i do not think he is that great never in the same league as manny or flod if he fights any of them he is finished.the fight that should be invesigated is pacman and marquez pacman was well beat his pal khan said he lost roach told him he was behind and still won that was a fix if marquez got it that would ruin the big fight manny v floyd to much money involved.

Regarding the pushing he did get warned and to some ppl he got what he deserved regarding the points deduction. But the british refs came out and said if the fight had been in the UK Khan wouldn't have got any deductions it was extremely harsh and the same was said by the ref that was doing the Froch vs Ward fight he thought it was harsh aswell

How can you say the deductions were harsh when he had plenty of warnings prior to the deductions ? He knew the consequences yet continued to flout the rules the ref was well withing his rights, as for the British refs, maybe they need to go back for more training as it's clear they don't understand the rules or worse still are prepared to overlook them in favour of their chosen man! There is no dispute the fight was close and but for the deducions (which Khan knew were coming) Khan may well have won the fight, his behaviour after the result has ben reprehensible and totally unsporting and that is the biggest shame in the whole sorry affair.

Khan had every right to question the points deduction, and ask why Peterson wasn't deducted any points himself,
Peterson was warned 19 times about use of the head, so why did he not lose points, I'd say use of the head deserved more punishment than pushing, and I'll repeat, 19 warnings, that's almost two warnings per round.

Because his fellow boxers and ex boxers those who know the sport more then any of us do have come out and said it was harsh. Yes he was warned and you can say he got just desserts but worse things happen in a fight then pushing which goes un punished. Boxers push all day long, how many boxers decide to hold on to their opponents when they take a beating, so how are you meant to get them off you?

Anyway the decisions been made now Khans gone bacl to the US and he will beat Lamont this time no doubt about it.

Khan-Peterson hearing cancelled by Golden Boy Promotions

Wednesday's hearing into Amir Khan's controversial December defeat by Lamont Peterson has been cancelled.

The International Boxing Federation announced that Khan's promoters, Golden Boy Promotions, have withdrawn their appeal without giving a reason.

Their statement said: "The IBF received notice that Golden Boy Promotions withdrew their appeal of the Khan-Peterson bout.
"The hearing that was scheduled for tomorrow has been cancelled."

It continued: "We have not received any further information on this decision by Golden Boy Promotions."

              More to follow.

GOLDEN BOY PROMOTIONS AND TEAM KHAN
                  WITHDRAW IBF APPEAL

LOS ANGELES (January 17, 2012) Due to the fact that there was only to be partial representation of fight officials who were involved with the December 10, 2011 Amir Khan vs. Lamont Peterson bout at tomorrow's scheduled appeal hearing of the fights outcome before the International Boxing Federation (IBF), Golden Boy Promotions and Team Khan have decided to withdraw their appeal and focus their full attention on Amir's next fight.

Golden Boy Promotions and Team Khan are pleased to have been vindicated by the World Boxing Associations (WBA) recent decision to mandate an immediate rematch and still hope that Mr. Peterson will honor earlier statements in which he asserted that he would be happy to agree to a rematch. In that vein, Golden Boy Promotions and Team Khan would agree to a 50/50 split of worldwide revenues derived from a rematch (including those derived from the United Kingdom) should Mr. Peterson agree to participate and hope that this will be both financially and professionally satisfying to Mr. Peterson and his team.
