The Blues boss is on a collision course with senior players and staff over a charity match in Italy next week.

The Premier League leaders have agreed to field a side against a combined Sampdoria and Genoa XI to raise cash for victims of the flash floods that struck northern Italy in November.

Mancini was expected to take a side made-up of fringe stars and youth team players for the game on Wednesday.

But he has stunned his squad and coaching staff by telling them he will pick a number of first teamers for the trip ? just four days before the crunch league clash at Aston Villa.

Starsport understands Mancini?s decision has caused uproar in the dressing-room.

Mancini has spent the past few weeks complaining about his squad being pushed to the limit by injuries, suspensions and players being away on international duty.

A club source said: ?The players are livid. One minute the manager is all doom-and-gloom about suspensions and injuries, but now we have to fly to Italy for a charity game.

?Some of the players are going to put their views across. But they fear their protests will fall on deaf ears because they feel Mancini does not communicate with them.

?One member of the backroom staff has already decided not to travel.?

FFS bobby, what are you playing at?
Shove Tevez in the team and have the 2nd string make up the rest.
yep, read this today, I don't understand it either, if there not being paid to play they should have the right to withdraw from the match, guess we'll see who have the balls to NO,
although it could be a good showcase for players like Hargreaves, and maybe Mancini himself.

A real stupid time to play a game when your main goal is to win the league, if raising money for the flood victims is that important why don't the owners just make a donation they have plenty of money. They could also postpone the fixture until the summer.

Im on the side of the players on this one, imagine if one of your big star players got a serious injury.

If he shoves anything but a 2nd team in that then he is going nowhere fast.

Yes they've hit a bit of sht form but this ain't the answer.

just been reading this, gets stranger by the day.

Carlos Tevez included in Manchester City squad | Mail Online

In the interview he denies doing, he allegedly said:

Tevez said: "The situation is very strange for me. I want to leave and had offers from other leagues, from Spain and Italy.
But ultimately nothing happened because City would not accept any bids. There were offers from Milan, Internazionale and even Paris Saint-Germain

maybe it is bullsh*t, coz what spanish club came in for him.

I think both parties have come to the conclusion that him not playing till the summer will both reduce his price and make it even more difficult to sell him.

I imagine, we will insist he makes a formal apology, and that he plays out of his skin in order to win a transfer away!

Its in both parties best interest and he probably knows the the PL will back us over the non payments and wants to be paid!

I hope you keep him to his contract and the bloke gets paid nothing. !!

He's a special talent if he can get City and United fans to agree over something.

Good result today, thought Aguero had an excellent game, and it answered a question whether he could play in freezing conditions,
as we know, not all south Americans like our winters, but didn't seem to bother him,
he did say he likes playing in cold conditions when he joined the club, and it seems he does.

aleister, don't know if you watch the inside city video's on there website each week, but thought this weeks was funny, when they were doing the super bowl photo shoot.
