Carlos Tevez contests Manchester City fine with Premier League

Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez has launched an appeal to the Premier League against the fine of six weeks' wages imposed on him by the club, BBC Sport understands.

Tevez was fined ?1.2m after being found guilty of gross misconduct, and lost a subsequent appeal to the club's board.

The Premier League will now need to schedule a hearing, although it is unclear when it will take place.

The ongoing dispute has cost Tevez, 27, ?9.3m in wages, fines and lost bonuses.

It is still the case that the player is not expected to leave Manchester City before the transfer window closes on Tuesday evening and the decision to appeal against the fine will further complicate any return to the club.

Should tevez fight this or should he cut his losses ?

All Mancini want's is an appology, he even invited him to his home which Tevez rejected. If he's clever he would appologise and if he did i wouldn't be suprised to see him back in the team, then he can do 1 in the summer. They way its going at the moment he will just get more fines, and apparantly hes going to play on Saturday in a testimonial for Boca Juniors, which will mean more fines.

I thought he would have gone to Paris St Germain, he'd have been a lot closer to home then - the Notre Dame cathedral

and it's his own fault he lost ?9.3 million of his wages, that's what you get when you let Harry Redknapp do your accounts.

He wanted to play in Italy more then he did for PSG, but if it had been the other way around PSG would have no worries paying the fee.

He's a class player but unfortunately a first class gobshite. He can certainly give City that edge and help them win the league but as has been said, maybe the fans wont accept it. Having said that, one thing is sure and that is football fans are fickle

                            THE TRUTH
                            The Hillsborough Independent Panel. 12/09/12

Today's report is black and white. The Liverpool fans were not the cause of the disaster.
The panel has quite simply found 'no evidence' in support of allegations of 'exceptional levels of drunkenness, ticketlessness or violence among Liverpool fans' and 'no evidence that fans had conspired to arrive late at the stadium' and 'no evidence that they stole from the dead and dying'.

Can we keep Man City talk in the Man City thread please?

Doesn't happen with Liverpool or Man United posts so at least grant the new champions the same courtesy.
