    Employee Benefits Trust

With the empending dissaster at Rangers due to tax evasion using nefarious tax dodging via Employee Benefits Trust, how many English Premiership clubs could there be in a similair situation ? How long before the taxman starts chasing these clubs to the point of liquidation ? Take QPR as an example, how on earth can a club whose ground supports only 19000 and is rarely filled, pay the astronomical wages of EPL players without some kind of fiddle going on. Time for a super league maybe? the clock is ticking !

The money that must be owed in the EPL must be unreal.

If they are going to take Rangers to task on this they have to go for the EPL. Or will it be the little league senario.

Its going to be interesting thats for sure.

Looks like you are ahead of the game Skegasagypsy, as it is now reported that at least 8 EPL or ex-EPL clubs are now under investigation for the use of Employee Benefits Trust.
      Time will tell.
As SAF would say "squeaky bum time" for a few EPL clubs.

        Employee benefit trusts

Most "celebrities" are also screwing the system! What about offshore "image rights" companies operated by most the top players in most sports. Also most film,TV and pop stars use this method to avoid paying tax and insurance. Even MPs and civil servants are at it. That's why the past governments have not closed this loophole. The ordinary working man has no image, no rights and no money, cos the taxman grabs his share first. A footie player on ?10 million a year would normally pay over half to the taxman but instead only pay around ?300k with this scheme. Fair ? I don't think so.

Where there is a loop hole theres is a way. They can make all the laws they want, but there will always be a way out for celebs, clubs business ppl to avoid paying.
