    ~~~~in unbelievable,was saying to bro in law about 2mnth ago that they were nailed on to go down.they could not score any goal their defence was garbage very ordinary players,but in their defence were always trying to play football. but didn't look capable, then they take nine points out of twelve after playing chelsea,man u,arsenal and newcastle and were unlucky not to take all twelve points these teams were outplayed tactically in all these games. including the one they lost.
      Really hope they stay up. Excellent young manager who plays football the right way. They have spent very little due to limited resources mainly on young promising players and players surplus to requirements elsewhere. He's got in players on the cheap from Scotland;- Maloney, Caldwell - surplus and Sammon, and the two Mac's from Hamilton.
      The chair seems to be a decent guy and is very supportive of the manager. Just a shame they can't get more a bums on seats.
          Didn't know that about Martinez. Why do fans not want him?
                      Yeh, a bit harsh maybe, but the fact that he's managed to keep a club which is in financial crisis, with an average gate of less than 16,000, in the Premier League for the last few years while trying to play attractive football, seems to count for nothing.
                      Some fans need to get real. Would they really prefer someone like "punt it up the park" Allardyce.
                          get your fact's right where not in financial crisis anything but more than can be said for most of prem clubs & as for less than 16000 ave crowd check the stats must be 17500/18000
                          i know it's as big as rest of prem crowds but when i was at school it was more than -16000
                              had a season ticket for latics for 5 years. but the rugby pulls in bigger crowds. I like both. first time Wigan went up everyone jumped on the band wagon. a new experience.but then numbers dwindle.
