Ireland v England: Rugby Six Nations

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. For all that Ireland weren't great yesterday - O'Gara had a nightmare - England were dire. Martin Johnson needs to sort out the discipline problems and I firmly believe Vickery should now be dropped. He is clearly incapable of keeping his discipline and he is past it. Overall, there is no leadership on the field. It was always going to be difficult to rebuild a team after the retirement of players of the calibre of Johnson, Back, Hill, Dawson etc all leaders in their own right. But the current lot are miles away from being thefinished article.

That said, Ireland were always the better team in what was a dour and sometimes nasty encounter. O'Driscoll played a real captain's match. Cometh the hour etc. It was no surprise to hear Brian Moore on BBC 2 whinging about.... well, everything really, that's all we expect from the poisoned dwarf .... but I expected more from Dawson on Five Live. It really stuck in his throat to acknowledge that England were guilty of persistent infringements at the breakdown and he joined the band of blind men who blamed the Seth Efrican referee.

Ireland to go all the way and take the Grand Slam. Yeah! We should be defending the titkle in the new Lansdowne Road next season.
