    Celtic transfer rumours

Celtic ace Ki Sung-Yeung set to be focus of bidding was between QPR and Russian outfit Rubin Kazan CELTIC are expecting a bidding war to erupt for Ki Sung-Yueng after the club last night rejected a ?6m bid from Rubin Kazan.
And MailSport can reveal the cash-rich Russians face a fight from Queens Park Rangers to land the South Korean star.
Kazan have coveted Ki for more than a year and had a substantial bid thrown out by the Hoops last January. But they have not given up and will test Celtic?s resolve with an offer of around ?7m this week.
However, Ki is aware of interest from at least three sides in England ? with clubs recognising there are huge financial spin-offs from Asia if they land the player.
QPR are sponsored by Air Asia and there is a natural tie-in that would suit all parties on that front.
Celtic signed Ki from FC Seoul in January 2010 for ?2m but he is not regarded as an automatic pick in Neil Lennon?s first team.
The Hoops gaffer is comfortable selling his star to boost his transfer kitty

6 or 7 million for Ki, I'd be packing his bags and loading up his car!

Agree. Not a bad player and may do better in a better league - not used to the rough and tumble of the SPL. Rather see the back of him than Big Vic.

I reckon he will go for circa 8m, I agree though hope we keep big Vic for 1 more season hopefully we qualify for the champions league and then he can show what he can do on the big stage and again we should make a huge profit on him.. While i dont want to see Celtic become a selling club, if Park/Lennon can continue to find gems and sell one or 2 on to fund further transfers it has to be done..
Just hope we get a decent big sold defender though, in the balde mould

Celtic have confirmed Efrain Juarez has now completed his move to Club America in his native Mexico.
The midfielder leaves the Hoops after failing to force his way into boss Neil Lennon's plans, having spent the first half of last season on loan to La Liga outfit Real Zaragoza.
Juarez joined Celtic after impressing for his country in the 2010 World Cup, making 20 appearances and scoring two goals during his time in the east end of Glasgow, and he said: "In my experience there were very good moments and a few that were not so good. In the end I don't consider it a disappointment."
He added: "The coach, Neil Lennon, is always seeking changes and I was among them.
"He changes the players and for the beginning of the second part of the season the team started to work, so that wasn't good for me."
A statement on the club's official website added: "Everyone at Celtic would like to wish Efrain every success in his future career."

Thought he would be a good signing, but didn't work out. Good luck to him.

That's a fair few players off the wages already..

Cash-strapped Rosenborg invite Celtic to launch bid for star man Markus Henriksen
SKINT Rosenborg last night pleaded with Celtic to make their ?2.5million move for teenage wonderkid Markus Henriksen.
The Norwegians are desperate for Hoops boss Neil Lennon to press ahead with his plan to capture the 19-year-old midfielder before the start of the season.
Lennon has confirmed Record Sports exclusive that he wants Henriksen but even though the Champions League qualifiers are just over a month away, he has yet to kick off his summer spending.
Rosenborg are well aware of Celtics interest and that of German giants Hamburg and are urging the Parkhead outfit to come forward with a cash offer to land the Norwegian international.
Club chief Erik Hoftun admits selling prized asset Henriksen is the only way to raise finance for his own transfer business.
Hoftun said: We have no great financial scope. Basically, we need to sell players before new ones can be obtained.
We receive constant requests from agents and clubs about our players but have not yet received a single concrete bid.
However, we are prepared to sell Henriksen
Celtics moves increasingly appear to hinge on selling to raise a transfer kitty and, with Victor Wanyama staying put, midfielder Ki-Sung Yueng is looking like the man up for grabs.
The South Korean has already attracted interest from Rubin Kazan, QPR, Fulham and Turkish outfit Trabzonspor.
