    RIP sid waddell

    Darts commentator Sid Waddell has died at the age of 72, his manager has confirmed.

    Waddell had been battling bowel cancer since last September and the news of his death was confirmed on Sunday morning.

    A statement from his manager Dick Allix read: "With great sadness, we announce that following a long illness, broadcaster and author Sid Waddell died peacefully with all his family around him late last night, Saturday August 11th, 2012."

          The best commentator of any sport I have heard. He was the voice of darts for many years. A real legend.

              Will miss him greatly- I just can't imagine watching the darts without him.

                  The bloke was a legend with some real funny quotes like..He's about as predictable as a Wasp on speed.. and
                  The atmosphere is so tense, if Elvis walked in, with a portion of chips... you could hear the vinegar sizzle on them. RIP Sid.

                      I remember him presenting some kind of pub games league show at lunchtime in the 70's where they played bar billiards, Table football darts etc.


                      EDIT: just had a quick look and it was called indoor league

                      Today's report is black and white.The Liverpool fans were not the cause of the disaster.
                      The panel has quite simply found 'no evidence' in support of allegations of 'exceptional levels of drunkenness, ticketlessness or violence among Liverpool fans' and 'no evidence that fans had conspired to arrive late at the stadium' and 'no evidence that they stole from the dead and dying'.
