Will Al Jazeera buy all the rites to every football league? They have the rites to the French Spanish and Italian league in the US. The problem is not all cable and satellite company's carry the channel. I heard they are going to buy the rites to Champions league football too. Don't you think it will become a problem if one network controls all the games? Bad enough we have to pay thru the arse for their oil.

They tried to buy the PL rights and lost out to Sky and BT in a 3 billion + deal.

Al Jazeera already has rights for the CL in Asia and i think in Europe as well.

Well i thought they'd get the rights for the PL for next season or atleast the 2nd package which ESPN have and will be taken over by BT next season. Al jazeera has the money but I don't think the PL wanted to turn it's back on Sky the amount of money they've put in from day 1 and technology and the money that the lower league get they probly didn't want to fix something that's not broken as the saying goes.

I do think somewhere in the future they will get some PL fixtures rights in the UK probably before the Qatar FIFA World Cup.

if aljazeera where to get the rights for the premiership in my view the pictures might not be shown in western europe after all its sky that gives the uk the premiership and yes champions league, npower league, spanish, italien,dutch,mls,europe league all good football to watch with that card.

why won't they be shown in Western Europe? Al Jazeera already has French league and CL coverage for Asia

lets just say aljazeera did get the rights at the moment that card could be got for ?100 or there abouts, i used to have one with 10 sports channels. Can you imagine the price of the card if the premier was on it, would cost a packet, but with the f.a they dont want 3pm football to be shown and that would be a big sticking piont in the uk

The problem here in America is will your cable or satellite company carry the channel. I dropped a service when they dropped a channel i liked to watch. What do you do keep jumping from one service to another. I'll have to give it a year to see if my provider ( Verizon ) will carry the channel. If Al Jazeera get's the rights to Prem football here it will all but kill the viewership in America. I though there were laws against someone cornering the market on one thing. Something don't smell right with them buying all the rights since they were awarded the world cup. I have nothing against the channel but if they are going to control world football except for MLS ( It sucks ) they should make the channels available to everyone.

From what I heard, Al Jazeera has Champions League, FA Cup, League Cup, Football League incl one 3pm Sat kick off each week as well as many European and America Leagues. They just bought the rights to all Nott'm Forest games home & away (who I support), so I'm hoping they'll be on every Sat. There are 10 channels and the packages for 10 channels are about ?150 or this package is ?90 for channels 1-8 for a years: Al Jazeera Sports Viewing Card 12 Month New Channels with Champions League (Hotbird)

Thinks I'm gonna get this offer myself...

The problem with the Al Jazeera deal in America is the Spanish and Italian FA rushed into a deal without thinking it thru. With the deal they sign they went from 100 million homes to less than 8 million homes. No matter what they got losing market share in a nation they have been trying to make inroads in viewership for the last 5 years was stupid. I wonder what Fifa thinks since La Liga just took the best two players they were marketing in the world basically out of America. Remember having 1/3 of the homes in America watching is like having the viewership of most of Europe. I hope the EPL isn't as stupid as the other leagues to go that route and grab the money

I wouldn?t bet a penny when Al Jazeera is Qatar with most public demonstrating every day for national democratic vote???..not a safe country for foreigners to play English league yet.

I can't see Al jazzera buying the rites to the EPL or the Bundesliga no matter how much money they offer. I'm sure La Liga and Serie A regret signing the deal cause they lost so much market share in America. No one really care about the French league 1
