    are these footballers worth it?!

    Footballers salaries???

    Pure, unadulterated greed ?.

Since when has an above average ability to propel a leather encased bag of wind actually been worthy of such monstrously high remuneration?

No footie player is really worth more than ?2k per week.

lack of footballers that can kick with two feet.?

As for the transfer market - nothing more than slave trading at best!

    what do you think.?!

Been done to death. Yes they're worth it. Theyre not just kicking a ball. They are making money for the club, and bringing a range of emotions and excitement to millions all over the world.
how come people never ask if movie stars or singers are overpaid? . This football salary bandwagon is becoming overloaded.

I think some of it has to do with the fact football was always a working mans pass time/game. You need to be on a small fortune to take the kids to a match these days and the prices have been driven up by the wages these players command. You could relate more to the players as they were usually local lads living in the area but now they act like movie stars and singers like you mentioned.

As far as the work rate a footballer puts in there's no way they are worth their wages. They are however part of a business and this is where they get their value. If they were paid what they're worth, most would struggle to get ?20,000 grand a year but the businessmen running the clubs put a false value on them of millions so when they're sold they can command a few million more than they paid for them.

Hypothetically if they were valued at ?50,000 grand and sold a few years later you'd be lucky to got ?70,000 for them if they were above average, giving the clubs a ?20,000 profit. Give them a value of ?4,000,000 and sell them a few years later for ?5,000,000 you've made a profit of ?1,000,000. All costs are written off against taxes etc so the club share holders are quids in. The only one's losing out are the sheep that are brainwashed into believing their clubs care about them so keep paying the inflated prices to watch then.

A bit like when a woman pays a few thousand for a handbag or a pair of shoes. We all know they're mugs but try convincing them they're not worth it.

Football is a sport and the idea is to win

Players prices and wages are market driven

Clubs would love to give players ?2000 a week

But in sport you need to win best players are a must so the clubs compete for players this inflates price

Players like all employees want the best pay they can find some clubs will pay whatever it takes to get the them crippling themselves with enough debt to go bust

the fans demand success and without fans there are no clubs.

Players have the power these days since Bosman a slave trade it is definately not a ?100,000 a week 5 year deal means nothing after 3 when there agents start bribing the club and its fans by holding it to ransom forcing it to either stump up more cash or i will leave for free

Ultimately its the fans who have to stump up more money or watch their prize assets disappear.

Ask a fan what they want cheaper seats ? or winning trophies ?

                      you cant have both

                      Unless..........

All transfers and wages are capped in every country at the same level to give an even playing field

but they would find a way around it

Like giving there wives ?5000000 a year to sit on the board or model the new kit

So the football club(company) makes squillions from TV deals and what not, and they should put that in the back pocket of who exactly? shareholders? Mike Ashley?

Meanwhile the man on the pitch ( the product) gets 2k a week?

The man on the pitch isnt worth his fair share of the companies profits so they should stay with the companies owners, have i got it right?

you could present your point in a better way, "worth" "value" etc is relative.

i think what some footballers earn is obscene for sure but i also understand that someone like cristiano ronaldo is "worth" every penny of his however many hundred k per week.

How can doctors and nurses save life's and a football player get paid 50 grand, 100 grand a week. it's just plain wrong.

dont know many teams that make any profit most struggle to balance books mainly because wages are very high compared to turn over

most clubs have to sell to balance the books and stay afloat some like chelsea and city make massive losses but the owners have big pockets

what i meant by clubs would love giving players ?2000 a week is that they would not struggle to stay afloat and fans may get a cheaper ride as in when working families could afford to go

and for the record i think owners of clubs have a right to take money from club just as an owner of any business does

ask abramovich how many squillions he has made from the "squillions" of tv cash available

most businessmen would steer well clear of football ask simon jordan

How did the clubs become so profitable compared to the 70's and 80's?

How much do they charge for a ticket now?

That is primarily how they became richer, then the premier league tv money went mental and the clubs all got very rich.

With that extra wealth they started to have more power in the transfer market......

If the player they wanted was in talks with other clubs....how could they get him?

                              Offer him higher wages?

                              Thats how it started
