I'm a United fan and I am very underwhelmed by him signing. I do still think he's past it and I there is no way I consider him world class. I'm not really arsed about him being a former Liverpool player, cos he grew up an Everton fan did he not?

If I were a Liverpool fan though I'd be delighted that he's signed for United, as he will weaken the side

This move should surprise no-one; he's always been a mercenary little s**t with no real ambition other than turning out for England.

Last few games of the season he ended up being left out of the starting line-up of a team staring relegation in the face, despite being their supposed star striker and captain.

Fat Sam Allardyce has had a look and thought better of it, telling the press he's not really interested in signing a permacrock on massive wages.

Yet suddenly Ferguson, the chinless b*****d, has decided that Owen's exactly what Utd need. I have to question the severity of the hangover which led to Bacon Face making that decision, must have thought that his head had caved in.

Hopefully Owen's pursuit of personal glory will continue to be fruitless. When he left us for Real, we not only won the Champion's League, but began an era of constantly challenging for it.

If we win the Premier League he'll be staring down the barrel of retirement with nothing to show for it but a healthy bank balance.

Midget boring c**t that he is.

he's getting worse by the minute..:

"You think Manchester United, you think winners and trophies."

"I came here a couple of times as a youngster. I competed in a tournament for them and met the manager.

"Over the last few years I've spoken to other players and had the idea that Sir Alex still thought I had something to offer.

"I was always clinging to the hope that he would ask me to come and play for them one day."
Who can forget the quote 3 DAYS before he left for Madrid..

?I believe my ambitions can be fulfilled at Liverpool. I find it a little insulting that, after 12 years? service, my loyalty is being questioned. I want every supporter to know that I am as committed to Liverpool as any player at the club. I have been the same ever since I first came to Anfield as an 11-year-old. In an ideal world, and in the long term, I want to help Liverpool become the most successful club in the world again.?

Man United Sign Michael Owen For Two Years

Manchester United have signed free agent striker Michael Owen on a two-year contract, the club have confirmed.

The former Newscastle, Liverpool, Real Madrid and England striker has completed a series of stringent medical tests and signed a two-year deal with the Barclays Premier League champions.

"Michael is a world class forward with a proven goalscoring record at the highest level and that has never been in question," manager Sir Alex Ferguson said.

"Coming to Manchester United with the expectations that we have is something that Michael will relish," he said.

Owen, 29, spent Friday at United's Carrington training complex as the terms of his free transfer were thrashed out.

His contract with Newcastle, relegated from the English top-flight last season, lapsed on July 1 and left Owen a free agent.

As Owen was out of contract there was no fee to pay and it is believed Sir Alex struck a pay-as-you-play deal, which will involve a basic weekly wage enhanced by bonuses.

The player has taken a significant pay cut from the ?110,000 he was reported to be on at Newcastle, for whom he scored 10 goals.

Owen admitted United's approach came as much as a shock to him as it did the rest of football.

He would have been a good signing for Hull / Wigan / Bolton but not Man Utd..

I bet the Chelsea, Liverpool & Arsenal defences are shitting themselves
true he has not neen prolific but his record last season in a shit team was 1 in 3 games which is better than dirk kuyt and your ?20 million man last season robbie keane

surely he will score more in a better team dont you think?

dont get me wrong im not overjoyed by the signing but he is costing nowt and has a lot too prove with a world cup on the way cut turn out to be a very shrewd bit of businesss if not what have we lost he's on a free

so the answer to that is ~~~~ all

time will tell but i have a feeling he may score more than 20 if he stays fit

The goals record on that site is definately worth noting. 23 Goals in 29 Matches when they're both playing together, as opposed to 12 goals in 23 with just Rooney.

I wouldn't be so sure that we dont know what we're talkin about on this site - Devilfish knows everything ;D

he'll defo score goals at man u but the hardest thing is keeping him fit, then again i can see him starting games ahead of berbatov and shrek unless he goes back to playing shrek on the wing, or starts with owen on the bench but he isnt a impact player who will make a big difference coming on as a sub.

i personally just dont see where fergie is going with his signings tho, valencia and owen arent in the class as ronaldo and tevez and imho they are going to be a weaker team next season unless they sign big

Panic buying as far as i can see. Personally they're welcome to the money grabbing self centred little shit. I wouldn't have him back here, his best days are behind him and he's injury prone.
On a plus note for the mancs. Andy cole was shit and needed 5-6 chances to score a goal, he missed more than he scored but scored a lot of goals. I think Owen will get the service he needs and will put the chances away. Problem is. injury follows injury follows injury with him.
He should hang his boots up and concentrate on the horses IMHO

                            THE TRUTH
                            The Hillsborough Independent Panel. 12/09/12

Today's report is black and white. The Liverpool fans were not the cause of the disaster.
The panel has quite simply found 'no evidence' in support of allegations of 'exceptional levels of drunkenness, ticketlessness or violence among Liverpool fans' and 'no evidence that fans had conspired to arrive late at the stadium' and 'no evidence that they stole from the dead and dying'.
