Half of the Aussies side likely to be taking the field today have never played in the Ashes series so probably the best chance ever for England to win the hallowed urn. Should be interesting to see how long it is before they replace Strauss with Peitersen.

Wouldve been a better day had we not lost the final 2 wickets, however its a solid start of a huge series!

hope so, the aussie batsmen that got them off to a good start were the original aussie players from last series, if we can get them early out we are in with a great chance of taking the ashes

each test is five days long in which each team can have 2 innings, five days were played and no one won, hence a draw.

do you not like the 20/20 or 1 day format either? i find them far more interesting to watch on tv than 5 day tests, or do you just hate cricket full stop

i thought we were pi$$ poor and very very lucky to get a draw...you could see by the way they were playing today that they were trying to hold out for a draw.......personally for the next text i think broad and panesar should be replaced with harmy and onions
