Man City to make ?50m bid for Newcastle United supporters

Man City to make ?50m bid for Newcastle United supporters

Premier League billionaires Manchester City have today launched an audacious bid for the entire fan base of recently relegated Newcastle United.

The unexpected move has come as part of City?s plans to be the best supported club in the world, and the so-called ?Best Supporters In The World ?? have provided a logical starting point.

The move will see each of Newcastle United?s 50,000 ?regulars? offered ?1,000 to change their allegiances to Manchester City.

?Our competitive advantage is our financial position, and we will buy anything and everything we feel will help us improve this football club.? Said City boss Mark Hughes.

?Securing the Newcastle United fans offers us a great opportunity to improve our position as the best supported club in the league,?

?They have just the sort of experience we?re looking for, in that they?ve enjoyed fleeting periods of great expectation followed almost immediately by abject failure, which will be useful to us in the next two years.?

    Unlimited funds

Hughes continued, ?We?ll happily pay top dollar for supporters who will blindly follow their team and defend them as the greatest in the world in the face of over-whelming evidence to the contrary.?

?And in that respect, the Geordies really are second to none.?

The Newcastle fans, who will not be subjected to a medical, are expected to have a ?fully clothed at all times? clause inserted into their Man City contracts.

A Newcastle spokesperson said that although the move has come at a bad time for them, the entire fee will be used to rebuild the supporter base into a slimmer, better looking unit which they hope will be ?the envy of the Championship?.

    THE TRUTH
    The Hillsborough Independent Panel. 12/09/12

Today's report is black and white. The Liverpool fans were not the cause of the disaster.
The panel has quite simply found 'no evidence' in support of allegations of 'exceptional levels of drunkenness, ticketlessness or violence among Liverpool fans' and 'no evidence that fans had conspired to arrive late at the stadium' and 'no evidence that they stole from the dead and dying'.

Its a big ask to have the biggest fan base in the world at the moment, having the best fanbase in Manchester is truely inspiring.

Everyone knows Man Utd's fan base is huge and only a small percentage get to see them play live at all never mind getting to see them play at Old Trafford.

But LFC's fan base is in the top 10 worldwide and estimated to be between 40 and 50 million
The population of Liverpool is what? a half a million??

Hundreds of fans if not thousands, make their way to the Uk from Ireland for home and AWAY games each week,
the less fortunate can only pack the pubs in their liverpool shirts to watch on tv or else watch at home.
Are these not Supporters?? are these not worthy of being called Lfc fans?

Except there's a big difference when not supporting you're hometown club (which to some extent says it all) but there's also a big difference in supporting a team that's won no domestic league in over ten years and supporting them because you like the team, some of their players or admire their football style or whatever as opposed to supporting a rival team of the same ilk that's won domestic league's constantly within the last ten years - glory supporters. Every club has them, at least half a stadium worth. Just check out Elland Road and St Jame's Park now when it's not a playoff final.

It's just that Man U seem to be the 1 club in England to have exclusive support from everyone but the hometown it represents! It also doesn't help that alot of Man U fans are 2 faced, hypocritical arrogant sods who are ignorent to boot - like manager like fan really. Appreciated not every fan is like that, but like I said it doesn't help....not when you watch say You're On Sky Sports and the Man U fan phones in and has it out with the presenters and footballing people on the show but won't let them get a word in at all and you just want to kick the s**t out of the arrogant git and it doesn't paint a good picture of the type of person that supports Man U.

Its easy to say you support a big team (but never go to see
                              them play)
I will always have more respect for people who support their local team, regardless of who they are, where they play, or what division they play in.

Right time for bed... goodnight all.

Ps. yes i know we played sh*t today.
