watch the Europa League this week.. two extra Referee Assistants, one stood to the side of each goal to combat this..

probably be in our league next season.. far better than chips in balls or lasers in the bar.. cant have chips and lasers in the park on a staurday / sunday for the amature leagues but you can have extra assistants..

football is the worlds game because the pros use exactly the same laws as the teams on a satuday local league

agreed. If the pros get it everone else should have it

@ste & davieboy, Bristol City also had a perfectly good goal in that game disallowed for offside, so in the grand scheme of things Palace did not lose out. Are you going to suggest that we microchip all of the pplayers so we can work out exactly where they all were when the moment the ball was played as well?

          thats it mate..

          exactly where do you stop..??

first its used for goal line only.. then people start kicking off saying it should be used for offsides too.. then it will be for corners / goal kicks.. then throw in's, then it will be: was it a freekick or not..

the game would be stop start every few minutes..

quite right, before you know it sky will start putting adverts in whilst the refs check for throw ins, we'll have time-outs, split it into 3 quarters cos they can't count and the sport will finally take off in America

i think other sports need the 'excitement'.. tennis definately does its boring as ~~~~.. even rugby is a bit shite.. the crowd doesnt even cheer much they just clap.. Football is exciting enough, the governing body doesnt need to bring in gimicks to grab the attention of its followers

I with ruudvandan and opsmonkey 100% on this one.
For the life of me i cant understand why football didnt have "goal" linesman/umpires long before now.
Lots of field sports have them ie: aussie rules, american football, etc.
Even Gaelic sports which are amateur sports have used them for decades.
The way i look at it using technology is too much of a grey area..
And thats why it hasn't been used .. keep it simple!!

I do not want to see goal line technology brought in but there is a hell of a difference from having the ball maybe cross the line and the ball hitting the back of the net,.

There is nothing better than the great debates of did it go in or not but that was shocking, my team suffered one year against Everton the first ever game at The Reebok stadium ball crossed the line for a goal to us, we got relegated by 2 points that year behind Everton!!

To bring the point round there should be standard nets throughout football (professinal) not ones with a stantion in the back though

There should be a set standard from now on then!

yes it would but do your local sunday league team have access to hawkeye..? no.. so its not an option for me..

the laws and regulations of association football have always been the same, no matter what league or team you play in, be it pro or amature.. this is how it should stay IMHO

Well i for one don't want video refs or goal line refs or anything else. Years ago you would come out after the game and argue over decisions made by the ref and you had to wait till MOTD at 10.30 or Kick off on Sunday afternoon to settle the argument.

These days there's cameras everywhere and it's taking away the buzz of the game for me. OK some will argue with me and say theres lots of money involved and the decisions need to be correct. ~~~~ that i don't get any money out of the game and i put enough into it. Leave the game as it is. If it's not broke don't try and fix it

                            THE TRUTH
                            The Hillsborough Independent Panel. 12/09/12

Today's report is black and white. The Liverpool fans were not the cause of the disaster.
The panel has quite simply found 'no evidence' in support of allegations of 'exceptional levels of drunkenness, ticketlessness or violence among Liverpool fans' and 'no evidence that fans had conspired to arrive late at the stadium' and 'no evidence that they stole from the dead and dying'.
