I feel sorry for the smaller teams, if it happened to one of them do you think it would be overturned ? i dont think so.

Football is all about greed/money now and with Chelsea being one of the biggest spending clubs the F.A. shit themselves because there might not be enough money in circulation without Chelsea.

Its a total disgrace and makes a joke out of the FA

Did you really think the decision would stand ? The FA are muppets.

      THE TRUTH
      The Hillsborough Independent Panel. 12/09/12

Today's report is black and white. The Liverpool fans were not the cause of the disaster.
The panel has quite simply found 'no evidence' in support of allegations of 'exceptional levels of drunkenness, ticketlessness or violence among Liverpool fans' and 'no evidence that fans had conspired to arrive late at the stadium' and 'no evidence that they stole from the dead and dying'.

Tell you what though it's going to give the smaller clubs precedence to do what they want now, because if the FA dare to uphold punishment for the lesser clubs the smaller clubs in the Prem will probably still seek legal action. And obviously they have a case, you can't punish smaller clubs and not uphold the same punishment for the bigger clubs or managers without anyone saying or doing anything about it.

Thats just it though m8 they do. Its happened before where Prem clubs have had points deducted but it's never been upheld. Lower league clubs have had points deducted and that has been upheld.

Hmm I think you have the wrong end of the stick here lads.. It's nothing to do with the FA.. The ban was imposed by FIFA.. Chelsea then appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.. It is the CAS who have suspended the ban whilst they investigate, if the CAS subsiquently find in favour of FIFA then the ban will be 'unsuspended'... The CAS found that only until proven guilty by them they can sign players in the January window only... It's ~~~~ all to do with the FA

                Agreed...

Chelsea must fancy their chances though or I doubt they would take on FIFA at sports highest court

at the end of the day it all boils down to money, if chelsea were a skint club they wouldnt give a flying ~~~~ about them.

and if them 2 tossers Platini and Blatter have anything to do with it i am suprised as they are anti English w@nkers.

sorry but i hate those 2

Totally agree m8. The pair of them hate the reality of English clubs dominating in Europe again

The ban was for 2 transfer windows, so it makes me question why Chelsea would appeal at all, unless they have some specific targets for this January who are available.

Chelsea have the strongest squad in the league and one of the strongest in Europe, so it's hard to see anybody of the calibre Chelsea would need to strengthen their squad being available in January. Summer would be a much more realistic window.

Now if they appeal, and the ban is reduced to 1 window (I personally think this is the most likely scenario), that would be in the summer, which would have been their last banned window anyway, so their appeal would have achieved nothing.

Other possibilities are that the ban is removed in it's entirety, or is upheld and the ban would push over into January 2011. Still then ban would cover the Summer 2010 window which is the only meaningful one.

I don't think Chelsea will escape without punishment as FIFA found them to have broken the rules and Chelsea must know this. FIFA found Man Utd to have not broken the rules, so I don't think they would do this to Chelsea without knowing for certain that they're cheated.

So it makes me wonder, either Chelsea are really desperate to sign someone in January, or they're convinced they will have the ban scrapped, otherwise why would they bother goin to all this expense?

tell me when Liverpool went to the Court of Arbitartion for Sport..??

I think you will find The FA ruled that Everton should get the final English place in the 2005–06 European Cup. UEFA came to an agreement that both Merseyside clubs would be allowed to enter the competition with Liverpool starting from the first qualifying round and Everton starting from the third qualifying round. This confusion resulted in the current ruling, whereby if the European Cup winners fail to finish in one of its national league's qualifying positions, it will take the place of the lowest placed team in its association. The superseded team will go to the UEFA Europa League.

Liverpool, and Everton for that matter, never went to any sporting body seeking qualification rights.. UEFA decided off their own back (well after some good lobbying by the worlds media and ex-players.. Pele for example)..
