    Would ground sharing be acceptable.....

BBC Sport - Football - Government set to reject Everton's Kirkby stadium plans

Now everton looking like have a second planning rejection.......

I know we have a heated rivalry with everton but we are both struggling different ways to get a new stadium off the ground.

And unless investment or new owners come in then maybe this is the only viable option imo :
IM SORRY but i will never have any sympathy for maggie thatcher .... the bitch

ultimately it's up to the fans. If the fans of both clubs agree to it it'll get the go-ahead.

I personally think it represents a great opportunity for football. That being that it could create an amazing atmosphere at derbies if half the fans are reds and the other half blue. They'd have to work out some deal though where half of each club's season ticket holders get a ticket for the first game of the season and the other half get a ticket for the second so we can have an equal split of fans regardless of whether it's a "home" or "away" fixture

40 odd years ago, this was muted. never got off the ground because both clubs were massive. most fans would never have accepted it. blues would love it now , but dont think it will happen. but personally, would love to see a 100,000 stadium on stanley park. stick wembley and o/t up their arses......

it's all well and good having a 100,000 stadium, Liverpool might, but Everton won't, fill it. Everton can't even fill Goodison when they play the big teams.

NEVER i hope. Both team must have there own identy and there own home and to share ground would destroy that tradition

isnt that all the more reason to share? cos neither can manage it on their own?

How do you work that one out? Id rather we redevelop GP as has been pointed out we don't fill Goodison. Id rather go self catering in Iraq than share a stadium with you scarf twirling tit heads tar very much.

Well no we dont need to expand the stadium for these phantom supporters so we'd be throwing money that we haven't got at a stadium we dont need.

No way do i want to share a stadium. You wouldn't trust them to pay their way. Remember what happened nearly 120 years ago Seriously though, Everton are talking about it. Liverpool have never wanted it. Who knows what the Yanks will decide to do now. One things for sure they wont be taking the fans opinions into account. I think most fans of both clubs are against the idea.

                    THE TRUTH
                    The Hillsborough Independent Panel. 12/09/12

Today's report is black and white. The Liverpool fans were not the cause of the disaster.
The panel has quite simply found 'no evidence' in support of allegations of 'exceptional levels of drunkenness, ticketlessness or violence among Liverpool fans' and 'no evidence that fans had conspired to arrive late at the stadium' and 'no evidence that they stole from the dead and dying'.

lets face some facts, our grounds are about 1/2 mile apart, across stanley park. both grounds are "landlocked" for want of a better word. neither of us can expand to build a bigger and better stadium. who are the only club to have increased their capacity in their original stadium. the dung.... arsenal have moved to a bigger and better place. thats what we MUST DO. would love to be on our own, but the yanks seem to have goosed that...so why not share with the toffees?
think of this.. to shut every scouse hating arsehole in this country up.... liverpool united...................

I think you probably could expand around the stadiums if you wanted too. I know they're surrounded by houses, but most of them are derelict and borded up anyway. It won't cost much to buy the remaining few. It could be done as part of a wider regeneration scheme to provide decent houses, so the people who still live there can get a good house out of it, everybody wins.

yes why not buy up the remaing few houses left around anfield stadium. they bought every other house around the ground years ago and left them boarded up for years. liverpool fc dont give a shit about the people of anfield and never will.

I think they should ground share it would save money for both clubs. Look at Ac Milan-Inter Milan, Roma-Lazio and Bayern Munich-1860 Munich

was mooted a few years go about updating anfield. would mean rotating the ground by 45 degrees. would take years to do and cut the capacity for a few seasons by 25%: a no goer...
