Not just the first team picking up sliverware
Manchester United's reserves kept the club's insatiable quest for silverware ticking over nicely when they defeated Bolton 3-1 to claim the Manchester Senior Cup at Old Trafford on Monday night.
The victory gave United a record 30th success in the competition they first won as Newton Heath 125 years ago.
United and Bolton qualified for the final after convincing displays in the group stage.
The Reds won six straight games on their way to the final while Bolton's only defeat came back in September, against United, at Altrincham.
Danish international goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard, who joined the Reds from Aalesund late last year, made a welcome return after spending a lengthy spell out with a knee injury.
United also had Darren Fletcher making another appearance for the reserves as he continues to strive for full fitness after suffering from the effects of a virus.
It was third time in four seasons the teams had met at this stage of the competition, with United winning on both occasions, and this tie always looked like taking the same course after both Nick Ajose and Reece Brown found the net for the Reds before half-time.
Tom Eaves? 80th minute strike raised Bolton's hopes, but United had the last word when David Petrucci scored from the penalty-spot four minutes later.
UNITED: Lindegaard, Rafael, Gill, R Brown, Wootton, James (King 58), Fletcher, Norwood, Ajose, Obertan (Petrucci 82), Brady (Vermijl 58) Subs not used: Devlin (Gk), Barmby
BOLTON: Lainton, Riley, McQuade, Dennis, Connolly, Blakeman, ~~~~~chan (Kellett 54), Vela, Eaves, O'Halloran (Odelusi 54), Obadeyi
Should Flether Start in the Champions League Final?
My opinion is no, Keep with the same team that beat Chelsea.

Sir Alex Ferguson in 1988
"This isn't just a job to me." "It's a mission. I am deadly serious about it. Some people would reckon too serious. We will get there, believe me. And when it happens, life will change for Liverpool and everyone else - dramatically."
Sir Alex Ferguson.
