2 games played in america now what a ~~~~in waste of time why are we there the stadiums are only 60-70% full

either we are just small fry over there or they dont give two ~~~~s for football (soccer) and they perfer rounders and health and safety consious rugby

have they no clue that there main sports are 5hite

i suppose it may help if we took our world cup players but i dont think in all fairness if we played on the moon they wouldnt bat an eyelid

as for the football its mediocre (as is most pre seasons) but its a chance for the young uns to get a run out as of up to yesterday only wellbeck is looking any good and staking a claim paul scholes at 87 is still probably our best player

and berbatov well he can pull a ball from the sky and cushion it on a bed of feathers before caressing it

      3 miles wide

but to be fair he did take his goal very well in the first game which showed he has a first class touch

shame he never manages it when we need it ie late against chelsea last season and every other ~~~~in chance he spurned late in the final run in to the season that cost us at least one trophy

Banned Man Utd Shirts 'Promote The Devil'

Whats the world coming too ?

Manchester United shirts have been banned in Malaysia after the red devil crest was labelled "dangerous and un-Islamic".

Potential customer looks at a Manchester United shirt outside a roadside shop in Kuala Lumpur

A Manchester United fan checks the quality of the shirt in a shop in Kuala Lumpur

Thousands of fans have reacted angrily to the decision by Muslim clerics - with some accusing them of supporting Premier League arch-rivals Liverpool.

Despite the Old Trafford side having an estimated 81 million followers in Asia, one senior cleric said: "You are only promoting the devil."

"This is very dangerous. As a Muslim we should not worship the symbols of other religions or the devils," another added.

"It will erode our belief in Islam. There is no reason why we as Muslims should wear such jerseys, either for sports or fashion reasons."

A Red Devil figure on the pitch ahead of a Manchester United game

The "Red Devil" is let out for a pre-match performance

But fans are now fighting back, posting messages on Twitter and Facebook to show their disapproval.

"Maybe the religious leaders are just fans of Liverpool?" quipped one supporter on Twitter.

"Why has this become an issue after Manchester United has won the title for 11 times? They haven't been watching the matches all this while?" said fan Sharifah Shahidah.

"What am I gonna do with all my Man Utd jerseys? And my sons' jerseys?" said another.

"Should I cover the emblem with a picture of flower?"

Manchester United Fan Club Malaysia, which has about 7,000 members, refused to comment.

Also off-limits are the shirts of teams including Brazil, Portugal, Barcelona and Serbia, all of which carry an image of the Christian crucifix in their team emblems.

Malaysia is a generally moderate Islamic country, but conservative clerics have issued controversial edicts in the past, including a ban on the ancient practice of yoga, which is criticised for including Hindu elements.

gibson should get his chance properly this season carrick is struggling scholes is getting older anderson and hargreaves may never shine again

cleverly took his goal well although he doesnt strike me as having it but i could be wrong id give him a crack though this season macheda took his goals well and wellbecks been excellent although im not sure what role he would play at united in the first team

to be fair tho we were beaten by 10 men the other night and although we looked good against an mls all stars team they are just a botched together group from the mls not a team so wouldnt have the same understanding as a team so the performance probably wasnt as good as it looked

pleased for the young mexican kid though to score on your debut for united is great it eases the pressure and reduces the forlan factor he took it well and may be a handfull for defenders he looks pretty quick

for me it was a pretty disapointing tour half empty stadiums and playing and getting beat off inferior players the only plus point is that they were half way through there season so where much better fitness wise

we start every seson poorly i think our pre seasons are 5hite

take half a squad to america leave the other at home then give the half a squad that stayed just half a game against some jokers form ireland who have never played together before

then its chelsea sunday charity shield i know its a warm up for the season start but ffs id still rather win the ~~~~er and hit the ground running i dont think we have done enough pre season IMO especialy the world cup players

                    1/2 a game so far is a ~~~~in joke

I think that the only reason United plays pre season friendlies is for the money. They played in the Aviva to keep the Irish fans happy because the Irish hold the most season tickets for Old Trafford after the English. They played in America to get fans over there to sell jerseys and get large sums of money of the teams that they were playing to give he mls and the American teams some publicity.

But I think that the season starts on Sunday with a big game against Chelsea (no matter what competion it is we always want to beat them) followed by the tricky visit of a pumped up Newcastle side who will try to make a point.

yes i dont doubt its for the money on offer this pre season crap but america aint interested the stadia was only half full

i know they dont want too miss the boat just in case it does become massive in america but the yanks who do know about "soccer" will already know who we are without us having to go

i wonder how much we do make for a trip around the states i bet it aint that much i would rather have a good pre season personally than make a paltry million or whatever they got

Cool it thread they where invited over here to play against a aircity 11 team made up of LOI players who were shite on the night never seen a LOI play so poor..As for half emtpy stadiums most of them hold between 70&80 thousand so half that is not bad. I enjoyed the pre seasons games nice to see the new signings plus the young lads play...BTW the new aviva stadium will hold the europa cup final might go if the pool go all the way..Noticed your run for charity will donate in the near future working away from home.

Chelsea rinsed all over the shop in curtain raiser
                            Chelsea 1-3 Man utd
Rooney made a superb opener for Valencia inspired by Paul Scholes excellent pass after some superb football by utd. 0-1 utd
The second goal was inevitable and fell to the young Mexican (chicarito) who somehow slipped and smashed the ball off his own mush into the back of the Chelsea net. 0-2
Chelsea responded with some good possession and had enough chances to draw level. Kalou latched onto the rebound from a fierce drive by Sturridge to make the final minutes uncomfortable for utd.
Chelsea looking towards the equalizer and definitely favorites for the next goal until Nani gains possession after 18 passes and dinks the ball into the path of the Berb who deftly lobs the oncoming Hilario to give utd a 3-1 advantage.
Man of the match Paul Scholes - sublime - if he aint in your fantasy teams then ffs bear in mind it's his last season, expect fireworks.
Move of the match - utd's first goal scholes into rooney who had drifted wide, then valencias run inside to take up rooneys position and then to finish such a flowing move with a deft touch over the keeper. SUPERB
Gay girl of the match -Essien

We are going for the title...!!!
