which is/should be the ambition of clubs the like of LFC and MUFC at the start of every season.
This lean spell is what LFC is going through now!!
And unlike a lot of the plastics i know what you are going through, as im old enough to remember a large portion of those years.
But for you Lfc supporters who believe that the last 2 decades have been in some way successful, then i admire your optimism.
so you dont consider istanbul in 2005 or wembley in 1968 as being successful??
can you not get it into your head that winning the league is NOT now the be all and end all of success.. who won the league in 2004? not us.but we won the c/l in 2005. need i go on? we are nowhere near as bad as you were in the 70's.. relegated. we have had 1 repeat 1 average season but still playing in europe. is this the "end"??? hardly.....

Of course i think these were successes.. but isolated successes!!!
To judge true success a club needs to maintain success over a period of time, which Lfc hasn't done in over 2 decades.
I'm not blind, i also realise MUFC will struggle to reach the same heights in the coming years that have become common place in the last 20,
Our club being sucked dry by the leech yanks, and with Chelsea nice and comfortable, Arsenal clearing their debt, and the arabs throwing zillions at City, the task is gonna be even all the harder in the coming years.

granted mate, but no team can ever win everything all the time, but to be fair our 2 have not done too bad. remember chesea went 50 year between league wins but still had a bit of success despite relegation..
heres an easy one for you. been watching lfc for 55 years and seen all the top flight clubs relegated, not the likes of wigan etc, newcomers, but the big clubs. all bar one and cant see it happening in my lifetime... guess who?

Talking shite man, Hes already said he would only ever manage chelsea. Why would he want to go to your shithole city to manage your gang of goons.??

Even if he did come to you, How would he be able to "carry on" when his style is completely different to SAF's ... Dont think so, What you said is like a human saying "when i die im going to heaven" ie: Clutching at pure hope when the inevitable happens.

he was second only to SAF in mind games. and looks like you have fallen for one of his

cos he knows he still roughly 35 miles from safety of the biggest cesspit in europe.

I dunno if im convinced Jose is the right man for the job,
Yes he's a winner, but at what cost to MUFC brand of football?
You have to admit Chelsea are playing with a much better style under carlo ancelotti than they ever did under Jose.
And going by accounts in Spain, the Madrid fans are none to pleased about the lack of goals so far this season!!
And for those that say all will be forgiven if he wins La liga or Champs league, then it didnt do del bosque or Capello much good did it.

Lets just hope SAF stays at the helm for another while yet..

ie: fail to win the top division league title,
And the way things are going down your way you guys will achieve this in 4 years time.
Anyone thinking otherwise is a dreamer.
so what is your point. we haven't won the league for years, that's not exactly news.
we wont win in the next four years, not news either, but stranger things have happened.
your success in your lean years are worth more than ours in our lean years. that's just pointless drivel.
you are now looking down the same road we are, no more titles, and its a hard fact to face,as your opinions show.
