yeah we got some good signings in just thought we could do with a holding mid for later stages of the CL. Was silently hoping for Diarra to be announced as Fergusons secret squirrel. Not to be just hope this young side that Fergie seems to have built without any ~~~~er noticing can manage a full season. Were on the crest of a wave just now but come May the pressure makes a player a different animal. We shal see eh mate we shall see

see chelsea have raided there feeder club again

looks like wenger has panic bought and what the ~~~~ is happening at everton and spurs they both must be struggling financially

one thing that struck me yesterday was maloney leaving celtic for wigan athletic

to me that just shows how far scottish football is on the slide who would have thought that 20 year ago that wigan would be a better oppurtunity for a footballer than celtic

anyway back on thread like gas a little disapointed no new faces but as fergie has said many times if you cant get the players you want what is the point of buying?

        Uniteds debt

Guys id just like to post some positives regarding the clubs position with regard to finance. WHY you might ask ? Well i was wondering why we didnt move a little more with regards to the transfer window and had a mooch around to see if I could find a simplified version of our accounts. This led me to this website and its well worth a read.
Truth Behind United Accounts | Footyplace

It would seem we are out of the financial hole the Glaziers dug for us ! They have reduced the massive interest payments by buying back some of the bonds and the flotation of the shares seems to have put us on an even keel.
What does this mean ? Basically we are back on the make and financially we look set for a 100 million profit (on todays figures) annually. These figures are after all deductions (including Glazer debt) and counting the 150 million that the club has kept banked for transfers.
Not all my research is based on the above site but it does seem to simplify things to some degree.

        Laymans terms
.We have a war chest of 150 million should we require strengthening to the current squad.
.We are now making profit of over 100 million per annum despite the crippling debts applied by the Glazier takeover.
.Net debt is down to 308 million halfing our interest payments.
.All these figure have been taken before the 60 million flotation of shares reducing the debt figures further.

Financially we are at our strongest point since the takeover and despite the Glaziers being looked on as total *****s they are exceptionally shrewd and have been in control throughout one of our most succesfull periods of all time.

How quickly the worm turns !!

due to float in singapore soon too and after that we should be able to flex some financial muscle and the debt will be nothing apparantly

what this will mean in transfers ect i am not too sure as any investors unless they are fans will be after returns from their shares

the good thing though is we should generate a very good turnover which should see us do ok with this fifa fair finance bollox

although i am sure they will be a few workarounds

That flotation should see us back in profit which is nothing short of a miracle given our position this time last year !
Regards to transfers I dont think the Glazier regime has affected us negatively. We have in fact become a wise investor in players and should we require a big money signing then we are inclined to splash the cash. Berbatov our most recent big buy who cost us a whopping 30 mill can be testament to that.
My OP on finances was inspired by us not signing big ie Sneijder but I think our dealings went dead when Nasri made his choice $
We dont need a Wesley at 35 million and 250k a week especially at age 27 but Nasri could have been a great addition. So far our signings have all looked exceptional and we have despite the lack of a marquee figure look in good shape. Will we rue not signing Sneijder (i dont think so) ?
            Ferguson !! Legend !

Sorry it's so long to read.

The Swiss Ramble: Manchester United - Introducing The Brand
              Sir Alex Ferguson in 1988

"This isn't just a job to me." "It's a mission. I am deadly serious about it. Some people would reckon too serious. We will get there, believe me. And when it happens, life will change for Liverpool and everyone else - dramatically."

              Sir Alex Ferguson. (20)

Another cracking result, a few more like this and De Gea will be well settled in, he even punched one cross clear today, and some great goals too, onwards and upwards
