Missed it due to work commitments but managed to stay result free and just seen the extended highlights.
Shit game and a poor standard of football all round, De Gea was best player on the pitch imo but that tells a story of great goalkeeping and piss poor finishing. What the hell Giggs was doing for their goal only he knows but it was never a foul in the first place and Gerrard found the hole well. You could almost feel the ballbags tingling as the dream of Gerrard returning to 1st team football to win the cup final loomed into reality until a decent finisher arrived and highlighted Liverpools awful defense.
Had 0-0 stamped on it until then and on the performance happy with a point but if we had our act together we could easily have taken 3 there.

Joking aside, The team selection was indeed strange, but because of recent visits to Anfield SAF wanted to keep it tight.
We went to Anfield in 08 with rooney, tevez and berba up front and lost. similar in 09 and 2010 (without tevez) and lost again.
Theres no shame in going to a place like Anfield with 6 of our top players not starting and getting a draw.
Forget about adams and his swan... whos to say that any of our lot wouldnt do the same givin the opportunity.

Dunno what Ray wilkins was thinking in giving Gerrard motm..
Surely it had to be smalling or swarez.
De gea had a good game no doubt, but if he had left in any of those half efforts from the pool he be chastised by now.

Adam went down under a questionable challenge from Ferdinand, with it appearing from some angles that the Reds midfielder dived, before Steven Gerrard stepped up to fire Liverpool in front from the resulting freekick.

But Ferdinand cleared up the dispute after the game, claiming there was contact, but adding not enough contact for Adam to go down like he did.

contact = foul = contravention of Law 12 punishable by direct freekick..

rooney done nothing when he came on and nani was the worst on the pitch when he did, you can see why they were not picked, something isnt right me thinks.

At the same time Adams should not be singled out for his swan dive.. it's just called clever play nowadays and everyone is at it.

Truth is Liverpool, at home failed to beat a Utd side that played over 3/4 of the match MISSING half of their first 11... i.e... a reserve side.

SAF Team selection suggests he doesn't consider you to be a threat and was thinking of mid week and next weeks game v City...
Just be thankful he didn't let the "Big Guns" start the match. and enjoy your point against the Champions.

If this "contact" was a rule, then surely we would have a penalty everytime a team gets a corner
