Boss: We want Vidic to stay
Sir Alex Ferguson is determined to keep Nemanja Vidic at Old Trafford, contrary to reports suggesting the Serbian is heading for a summer exit.
When asked about the press rumours on Monday, the United manager insisted: "It's pure speculation. We get that from time to time and we just have to deal with it.
"A lot of clubs want to buy our players. We want him to stay, of course. He's a great player and one of the best centre-backs in the world."
In other words, there's nothing sinister in Vidic's absence from United's flight to Milan. Nemanja is still not ready to return from injury, having missed the Reds' last nine games - every match so far in 2010.
"It's a difficult one because Nemanja feels like he needs a lot of training," said Sir Alex.
"He's trained for the last ten days but still doesn't feel ready to take part in any games. We must be patient with the situation and that's what we are doing."Comment
