Celtic raise concerns to SFA over referee decisions

Celtic have confirmed that they have met with the Scottish Football Association to express concerns about refereeing standards.

A club source had earlier told BBC Scotland of their frustration about decisions after analysing footage - including the last two Old Firm games

I think its about time something was done. It happens to us all, more so celtic this season. Again swings and roundabouts.

    Celtic:
Dundee United at home - Stonewall penalty denied in last minute. 2 more points.
Rangers away - 2 penalties denied. 1 more point at least
Falkirk away - Perfectly good goal disallowed in last minute at 3-3. 2 more points
Rangers home - Perfectly good goal disallowed and Lafferty gets away with a horrible tackle. 2 more points
Falkirk home - Clear penalty on Fortun? with 10 minutes left. 2 more points
Hibs home - Foul in the lead up to Hibs winner. 1 more point.

    Rangers
Hearts away - Penalty in the last minute, about 3 yards outside box and Boyd scores to give 2-1 win - 2 less points if ref does job.
Celtic home - 2 clear penalties to Celtic denied. 2 less points.
Motherwell away - Clear goal to give Motherwell a 2-0 lead, unbelievably disallowed for offside, end up getting a 1-1 draw. 1 less point.
Celtic away - Clear Fortun? goal disallowed, and Kyle Lafferty allowed to stay on after assault. 2 less points.

There's a 17 point swing right there (assuming we score the penalties). Anyone who says the officials haven't had a big part to play in the league this year is off their nut.

    OMG!!!

It's sad that you actually believe that the ref's are responsible for your current state.

Think back to the last year you won the League, Penalty at hamilton that were clearly out of the box. Rangers denied clear goals, one at M/well and then again at Aberdeen by the same official. This is the 1st season for years that Celtic have got less decissions for them than for them, the paranoia lives on!

Tell you what though, Liewell is great at deflecting the pressure from the actual problem, which is the manager and on to the refs. Best move all season Celtic have made. Still wont matter, Rangers will not lose on Sunady and that = Game over!

    Try again next season!

p.s you'll be re-building again next season when your loan players ride off in to the sunset, with not medals but a fist full of dollars!

    WATP!!!

i think over the years there have been decisions went against both old firm teams no need to ask about referees as it mite put added pressure on the officials this sunday.

It's only what miller did last season... & what did uncle Walt say about the Aberdeen game last season and the naming of the linesman due to him having 'an Irish' sounding name (Murphy) - that was low.

What did MON say.."For Celtic to win the league we have to win it by a mile" ...when referring to the dubious decisions given to Rangers and given against Celtic when it gets close.

Bring in English or European refs in Scotland. The Scottish refs are absolute Sh*te! Less chance of funny handshakes before the game... & a Rangers season ticket holder running the line in a Rangers game... & a minister being the ref of an old firm game! Only in Scotland.

You had a European Ref vrs arsenal and he gave a penalty for a dive. So if that happened you wouldnt be happy. Take it on the chin its football and errors are made wheres Celtics dossier listing all the decisions they had for them? Or dont they count.

I actually hope the ref gives us a soft decision to show he wont be intimidated now.

There's no danger of you not getting a soft decision on Sun. The funny handshake brigade will see to that..

We are absolute mince at the minute in an absolute mince league. Where as you lot are mince in a better league.

You probably don't know (& maybe don't care) that this has been going on for decades, but every so often there's a run of blatant 'bad' decisions. It just so happens that there have been a run of them this season.
