sorry, mate, even i could win a treble in scotland... its either you or them...was not talking about his playing career at forest. but his managerial role.. hardly a massive record in terms of future suitors for him... but the "press" will have him as a replacement for taggart.... mark my words....

nah mate, look where he took wycombe to, promoted again with leicester, 2 carling finals, then made villa into a regular top 6 team.

anyway, its not learners fault, he hasnt told him to cash in on milner at all. milners asked to leave.

same as what that shitbag lascott did, players arent what they were now, theyre 20 yr old mercenaries, i cant wait for the arabs to get bored and leave city to pay them wages.

theyre the next leeds, and i hope milners the next franny jeffers. anyone remember him???????

Got to disagree. You could win a treble in Scotland...ok... but 'King Kenny' the man you wanted as the next Liverpool manager could hardly win a game when he managed one half of the old firm!

Every club he's managed he's left them in a much healthier position.
        Wycombe - took them up
        Leicester - 2 cups
Celtic - were way behind Rangers when he took over, as well as winning several trophies he managed to take them to the final of Uefa, having every bit as difficult a task as Roy Hodgson with Fulham - something that has been lorded on this site
Villa - remember where they were when he took over?? Relegation they were heading for.

Best manager in the uk with the possible exception of Ferguson, took leicester to 3 cup finals winning 2, and 4 top ten premier league finishes.
The fa should get rid of that italian fool and make martin the england manager.

arsenal, chelsea and liverpool were already top clubs with money to spend, a lot of managers could have gone there and been a success, if martin had gone to a top 4 club I'm sure he would have won the premier league and european cup, in leicester, celtic and villa he took them as far as possible with the funds available.

Would the managers you've mentioned have won leagues & cups in Rafa's case.., if they were managing Leicester? Would they have done a better job than MON at Villa??

Would MON have finished 7th in the EPL with Liverpool with the likes of torres & gerrard & the money Rafa spent??

a lof of ifs and buts on here so far about oneil nobody can say for SURE its all about opinions

my personal opinion is that i would be happy to have him when fergie retires although i think it may be mouriniho

oneil has done excellent wherever he's been on limited resources i personally think hes a great manager my only doubt would be that because he has only ever really shopped on a budget would he know what to spend ?20-30 million on i dont fancy the john hartson types

but as a football man,a motivator and an inspiring person i dont think there is many better than him tbh

                                Your spot on.

Tactically not the best. Motivationally not many better. Hold my hands up - his teams don't play the best football, but not all sucessful managers do - Special one & Spanish waiter definitely don't to name but two.

As for trusting him with money. He didn't make too many mistakes at Celtic when he spent big-ish (Sutton, Lennon, Hartson). At Villa he's spent a lot more & he's got mixed results.. I know I wouldn't have spent 12 mill on Milner at the time, but they are going to make a tidy profit on him.
