Martin O'Neill tipped to take over from Avram Grant at West Ham today
today at 12:24 pm
As Avram Grant edges nearer to the chopping block at West Ham, Martin O'Neill looks likely to take the helm.
There's mounting speculation that Grant will leave the club as early as today following his poor run in charge of the Hammers to date.
Grant is expected in the dugout as his team face Arsenal on Saturday, but he may well leave his post after the match - regardless of the result.
Meanwhile, West Ham vice-chair Karen Brady has said that she will not interfere in team matters, but won't stay completely silent. Recent comments by her regarding the club are said to have annoyed Grant.
Writing in her regular Sun column she said: "Despite recent criticism - and there's more today - never in 17 years have I tried to interfere with management or running of the teams.
"I don't score that kind of OG [own goal]. But I do believe in airing an opinion."
West Ham currently lie bottom of the Barclays Premier League.
