I think he just bit off too much for his first job in management, I'm sure he'll be back at a lower level to learn his trade properly..

      roy keane

i think that he bit off a bit more than he could chew personally by taking on the sunderland job. theirs no doubt he was a fantastic player but like a lot of ex players have found out that management is a different ballgame, parden the pun.

his first season they said he was a miracle worker taking sunderland from the bottom of the championship to the premiere

then he packs in cos he's on a bad run i thought more of roy keane than that roy keane the player was a battler roy keane the manager seems like a bottler

to be honest guys i dont know what you ate saying .

when keane took over the where bottom of the championship and in one season gets them into the premiership .

i think saying bit more than he can chew is harsh .

not many managers could do sumthing like that in such little time .

he made some good signings and its still early days in the league.
i must admit tho im shocked that he walked as it seems a bit of heat and he couldnt take it .

tho you dont know if he really did walk or didnt want a sacking on his c.v

keane will get a go at a prem team again no probs .

i think he knew his team was turd and didnt want to get reamed by his old boss this weekend.. Utd will rip Sunderland apart and i think keane didnt want to look stupid in front of fergie....

he may have worked wonders in the championship.. but the Premier League is a big step up.. ask any Derby fan..

personally i think he was pushed...and believe it was a similar thing to keegan leaving newcastle.

as i dont believe he would have signed some of those players that signed, i think they went behind his back and did it anyway and hes had enough.

dont get me wrong i think its class the mackems messiah has walked

I think it's funny how man u fans are calling him a quitter and a bottler now , to me Roy Keane has always been a vindictive and downright dirty player...someone who is very opinionated and someone who doesn't think twice about storming out if things aren't to his liking. Says alot about the man doesn't it. However he did take Sunderland out of the lower reaches of the Championship and into the big time of the Premiership in his first season as manager....there's alot of managers that are still trying to get out of that league after many a season.....so he is a talented manager no doubt, but I don't think he has the man management skills of either himself or his squad or peers when things aren't going in the right direction....half of that is because he is used to success and the other half of that is because he is a tosser, first sign of relegation dogfight and he has walked! Can't say I blame him he obviously has high standards and feels there's no hope for success at Sunderland beyond this point.

I can understand Sunderland fans being upset and Man U fans should stay out of it as it's nothing to do with them, Keane as a player and Keane as a manager are 2 totally different things....but this proves 1 thing, Keane is a tosser and him and Man U deserve each other . Keane to succeed Fergie!

you pick your posts to goad me but i will rise above it cos im that kind of guy

i just though he had a bit more about him than to quit as soon as there was a bad spell

he's at a big club with cash to spend it could have been a big stepping stone in his career as for roy keane himself i thought the world of him as a player but since he left old trafford in tears he has been a bit bitter towards the club and manager and said a few catty things in the paper

ferguson was right to get rid he was past his best and thought he was bigger than the club in some respects,he it seems took leaving badly

1 man utd fan voiced an opinion so what, hes a winner ,and in his pomp one of europes best ever midfielders dont forget that and almost single handedly dragged utd past juventus despite bein 2-0 down into the euro cup final ,downright dirty NO,always got stuck in and crossed the line a few times, remember halland tried to dragg him to his feet with a cruciate snapped so he got what was coming, hes a complex character no doubt in at the deep end a bit early for me even though they were bottom end of championship should have done the lower leagues first ,there will be more to it than we know

Think Big Sam would do the biz for the Black Cats, but how would they feel having an ex Mag in charge?
