When I mention flag flying it relates to both teams. The Celtic fly Irish flags, Palestinian flags etc. Rangers fly English, Red Hand etc. It's got nothing to do with football and all about pissing the opposition off and showing the mentality of the supporter.

What's happened to playing for your home team to make them a better side with local pride, watch a game in a pub with the opposing supporters and have a few beers then congratulate the better team.

Point of order mate. Celtic fans have flown Irish flags since way before the 60's due to the history of the club being founded to help the inpoverished of Glasgows east end - many of whom were Irish immigrants. They were flying Irish flags in Lisbon in 1967 when they won the European Cup with all 11 players born within 30 miles of Parkhead - players playing for there local team.

Some of the other points you mentioned re Nationalist and people should go back to that country is not only rhetoric used by (dare I say it..) supporters of Rfc, but is point better raised in the general chat forum.

i dont know a lot about football but im after googling that song referenced in that avatar with the spud head and now that i know what its about i think its the most offensive thing ive seen on this site bar nothing. i've seen threads closed and people banned for a lot less. Could someone get him to remove the songline from it please?

At the end of the day it's racist. If it was about Jews 'go home' the holocaust is over it would be racist and I would be offended. If it was about Africans 'go home' slavery is over it would be racist and I would be offended. But this is about the Irish eh...

FYI I do not support either side and I can assure you football and politic do not take precedence over how this forum is moderated and that's my opinion.

Maybe this thread should be deleted or should it be left here to show that people sorted it out themselves without resorting to flaming.............well one side anyway

Satsmo, thanks for reply. i dont want any thread removed or poster banned. but his avatar has a line from a song that is one of the most racist i've ever seen. im after reading that 3 Judges have found it to be so and its illegal to sing it in scotland.

As above, it's the avatar that should be gone not the thread. I'd like to think the rest of us on here are above that childish carry on. Hard as it may be to turn the other cheek and all. We shall see how it goes.

Thanks Satsmo it's good to know. Any Mods' that are looking at this thread, I don't think there is any need to close it. Like Satsmo said if we can sort this without fanning any flames it will be good for other members to view. Ideally the odd comment about child abuse etc is not ideal of course, but my real concern is the guys avatar and the fact that he's quite willing to refer to it. He's had that avatar for months and nothing has been done. Now I know some will find the avatar ammusing, but to be fair it's racist and I for one am pretty pissed off about it.
