    i have just read a book on another site in Turkey called G?bekli Tepe
    [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xo0ZkgqM1TE]12,000 Years Old Unexplained Structure - YouTube[/ame]
    heres link but reading on the net can throw a lot more light on the civilisations including the one mentioned in the post above http://science.nationalgeographic.co.../gobekli-tepe/

    amazing workmanship shows how little we know of real human history !

    estimated to be the oldest yet site of advanced (neolithic ) civilisation pre dating the great pyramids by 8000 years !

    its only been investigated and archaeologists have dug just under 10% so far (rough estimate)

    but astounding if the dates are confirmed !

        Not quite as early but take a look at what the Minoan's were producing as long ago as 5000BC. By 3000BC they were producing gold & silver jewelery that was quite staggering in its complexity.

        Its amazing how much knowledge was lost with the falling of each civilisation, Minoan, Egyptian, Greek, Roman. If the knowledge had of been kept we would of been at least a couple thousand years more advanced by now. Unfortunately, most of these backwards steps are almost directly linked to religeon.

          What exactly does 'more advanced' mean?

          Better at destroying the planet and squandering our natural resources?

          There is a school of thought that mankind has reached and surpassed its current level of technological development many times before, and been destroyed before we manage to destroy the earth.

          And take a close look at what we call civilisation. Hunger, poverty, greed, violence, depression, suicide, how many of us have meaning in our lives or can say we are happy?

          Looks to me like we have a lot to learn from those that came before us.
