i disagree

man gets blamed for a lot but he didnt kill the dinosaurs

we have had loads of ice ages and we never caused them or caused them to melt either and whose to say the ice has not been receding since the last ice age?

we are nothing compared to nature and our whole life revolves around the sun the end of the earth will happen when the sun goes out and it will have ~~~~ all to do with us

the only other way would be from a collision from space

yes we may have problems if fuels for example run out, the population is ever expanding we may not have enough crops to feed everyone in the uk we may have to resort back to sailing to provide provisions as we cannot possibly feed everyone in the uk without imports, millions may starve to death worldwide mainly the poor but that will not be the end of the world it will be a leveller to get supplies back to a maintainable balance

the actual end of the world will never ever be caused by man

IMO there wont be any end of the world as we know it. In any event, if it happened tomorrow and we die, then it wont affect us as we will not remember it.

On a more serious note:

Life is about living and sharing etc, not worrying when its going to come to an end or how its going to happen. IMO death is just like birth, you wont know when it takes place, or how, nor will you recall it and you certainly have no say in the process (unless you choose the noose or terminal illness etc)

Move along, nothing to see here.

Life should be happiness and once your happy, then helping others to be happy should be next so as they share the same down the line......

but where or what could they miscalculate?

21st December 2012 is only mentioned i one place, as far as we know now, in the entire Mayan record.
a small panel that says there will be a meeting/celebration on the end of the 13th bak'tun. (midnight on the 21st December 2012)
ok so there was more, but it has been destroyed. but not in the time Europeans have been in S America.

nowhere else, either in art or literature (such as that is), is the date even mentioned.
even better no depiction or mention is made to the end of the world, again in any of the Mayan records

so you cant "miscalculate" there.
just make stuff up.

well they must have, that happened in 1997.
but if they had brains (very doubtful) they would already know that.

Do you know how many Mayan calenders there are, which DO NOT END ON 2012? Have a check.

In fact, this is the only one which ends 2012. The others go past far far ino the future and some ended before 2012.

Scammmmmmmmmmmmmm.

They only picked this one because its the closest one which they can milk, but the next calender will be milked when 2012 comes and go`s with many different interpretations.

Do some research people.

Not by the end of the sun but rather when the sun turns into a red dwarf in which case it will engulf mercury and Venus and possibly the earth. If it doesn't engulf the earth all water will be instantly vaporised and all life extinct.
