ok got now its a bit lame really, now i feel really dumb cause it took me so long to figure it out. remember im very old and i drink a lot and i mean a lot a lot, now what were we talking about ?

The initial set up think of the cards
cards theres 12 facecards in a deck 3 (Jack Queen King) x 4 (Spades Diamonds Hearts Clubs) so 12 face cards in total.

Theres 6 cards initialy displayed:
King of Hearts
Jack of Clubs
King fo Spades
Queen of Diamonds
Queen of Clubs
Jack of Diamonds

They vanish and you stare at his eyes and forget the other cards bar your own

The next setup displays a completely different set of cards this time 5 to make it apparent that one is missing, apparently yours, when the truth is theyre all gone.

Queen of Hearts
King of Clubs
Jack of Hearts
Queen of Spades
King of Diamonds

Taa Daa, its completely magic, at least for the Jack of Spades who clearly had the day off.
