How to access the sd card thro open menu

Hi, using text edit app to type and save and open text files in android Samsung galaxy j2 pro. I could access the device storage using this app, but the folder it shows is /sdcard/. But I find no files matching the folders I actually have in my memory card.
Which folder on the internal storage, would allow me to access the memcard contents. I opened all the folders one by one but could not access.
The card is mounted on the device and I could access the files thro MY Files app. Any idea how to access the text files in the memory card

    Thanks Advance.

I just navigate to the SD card, then the location within the SD card of the file i'm looking for, using windows explorer.
