using wav file as ringtone

had a wav file for my phone for a while then decided to root phone with gingerbread v12
i've tried to play the wav file on the sd card but nothing happens
i moved them off the sd card to my pc to check and all is ok
any one no what i'm doing wrong
there showing up but wont play

Same as any other audio player. Whatever player you have on the custom rom does not have the codec to play wav files. You can either find a codec pack from your rom dev or install another audio player

If you can find a voodoo sound kernel that is compatible with your rom you should be ok. I have voodoo on my sgs and can play wav files
