    Battery drain Media

I have a Galaxy S3 and the battery is draining faster than it should.
When I open up battery to see the usage
    Screen 28%
    Google+ 20%
    Media 19%
I did a bit of a google and someone said their sd card was corrupt, and media was running, searching for music and stuff.
I removed my sdcard and yes it worked, 76% battery life after a working day, whereas before it would be dead.
Now I need my card in obviously. I copied everything and re-formatted the card, then copied the stuff back to the card.
    The phone is discharging again.
How can I stop this? I never really listen to music on my phone anyway, and google + I don't use.
    Any suggestions?

I have deleted my Google+ account, hopefully the syncing will stop. I will let you know what the outcome is.

Definitely better battery life with the google + account deleted. Maybe a bit extreme, but I didn't use it.
        It is showing
Battery Life 61% after 8 hours
        Screen 65%
        Media 7%
        Android System 6%
        Google+ 6%
I think Google+ will dwindle down to nothing over time.

Try to use "battery doctor"(from gogle store) to make better charge and recharge for a week or two and then try to monitoring again battery without battery doctor application if continue to be low then send back for repairing main board.

Even tho I deleted my google plus account, it still shows up Media as the biggest drain after screen usage. Next on the list is Google +.
If I eject my Micro SD card, it lasts for ages.. 50% left after a 12 hour day at work.
I have noticed my phone saying 'preparing sd card' now and again, even 'sd card ejected unexpectedly'.
I will try a new card (annoying as this is a 32gb one). Maybe even a factory reset of the phone.

Looks a good size battery that. but how ugly is the extra width?
I finally sorted the problem, was a dodgy sdcard. It kept mounting and dismounting (unmounting? ) And when it re-mounted it was searching for media files, music I guess.
A new microsd card sorted things.
                  Thanks for the link Slick

Another way to save battery life is to uninstall/disable built in apps you don't use.

Menu > Settings > Application Manager > All

I have disabled ChatON, Dropbox, Game Hub, Google+, Group Cast, Readers Hub, Talk, Yahoo! Finance & Yahoo! News.

Not sure about the All Share app. I have no idea what it does & I'm to lazy to find out. But if it can be disabled without causing problems it will be going.

Google+ was the biggest power drain.

Allshare (now called Samsung link) allows you to stream pics and video from phone to any dlna device wirelessly. It bugs the life outta me when I'm watching (smart) tele and missus decides to send some bullsh1t YouTube video from faceache book over so she can watch it on big screen. It does make life much easier to view pics from a day out though. ........ but only as long as everyone wants to look at them. The middle of Scotland v England was not that time
