    Samsung Galaxy S2 & S3 Sim cards

Hello i have had my Galaxy S2 for nearly 1 year and i love it but i had a chance to get a S3 from my mate for not a lot of money well it is xmas so i got it - he said that i will need a mini sim for it but my S2 uses a normal sim now the problem is - i want to keep both phones the S3 as my main phone and the S2 as a back up in case my battery dies, so how can i get my sim to fit both phones,i have heard that you can cut them down but i really do not fancy doing that - i am with virgin on contract would they send me a mini sim if i asked for one so i could have a sim for each with my number on them both
    Thanks in advance

If you want to be able to talk on both phones, you will need to purchase a new SIM Card, and a Monthly Plan, and Activate the phone.

Do Not Trim Your Good SIM Card To Fit The New Phone.

Thank you for your input, i do not really want 2 phones with different numbers i am more interested in having a back up phone so i did some research and found a micro sim adapter that allows me to use my standard sim in the Galaxy S2 here is a link to the item

Dual SIM card adapter for Samsung Galaxy S3 - ELITE - NO CUTTING - 3G/UMTS - UK | eBay

and seeing that i did not have to pay a lot for the S3 i think ?25 is better than having to get another sim

Also, this MagicSim Adapter needs a Mico-Sim Card to work with the activated SIM Card from the working phone.

Then, only one phone can be used with the activated Sim Card.
        Thank you.

There's nothing wrong with cutting down a SIM. As long as you use a SIM cutting tool & not a pair of scissors or a blade.
You can then pick up an adapter pack for when you need to use it in the S2.

          Micro SIM Cutter

The adapter you listed might come with a problem. The back won't fit on the S3 correctly with the adapter fitted.
