Samsung S4 anyone tried to cut talkmobile sim

Hi guys just got my hands on a S4 but ive a standard sim in my other Galaxy. Saw a few youtube clips but has anyone cut down a talkmobile sim into a micro sim.
Will probably pop in carphone warehouse in the morning and hopefully give me a free one or cut my sim.

I have tools to do the job. But it really depends on how old your SIM card is.

Older SIM's have larger contact areas, which if cut, break.

Newer SIM cards are easy to cut down..with a tool.

Well popped in Carphone Warehouse robbing bar stewards want 15 quid cos ive a big lumpy looking sim yet my daughters on same phone is a slimmer chip and can be trimmed for free.

My next question is I'm after a pay as you go sim that doesn't expire. I want to put 10 quid on it and 30 days later if ive made no calls ive still 10 quid left.
Are there any non expiry sims out there?

It's bee a while since I looked into prepay details. Most of the networks don't have limits on credit, only the add-ons. As if you top up ?10 you get unlimited text, but only for the next 30 days or your credit runs out. 3 are more underhanded & rob your credit after 30 days.

You would need to make or recieve a call once every 6 months, other than 150,450, etc. If you don't they will deactivate the SIM.

This is exactly what has happened to my Mrs pay and go Orange phone. Checked it this week and deactivated.

If you call the network they should be able to activate it again.

The process Orange used deactivated the SIM after 6 months of no use. It would sit for another 6 months before the mobile number would be put back into availability for new connections.

This may of changed, it's been a long time since I worked there. Other networks have different time frames. But all have to refund or transfer any credit that was left on the account if requested.
