Before ask any code check the simlock counter. If locked the code is useless.
to enter engineering menu *#*#7378423#*#*
look around somewhere in you w'll find the simlock it's look like this (if you confused take a pic and attech)

this is a classic simlock locked menu, unlockable

[x] Network 5
[] Network subset 0
[] Service provider 0
[] Corporate 0
[] SIM 0

non classic still unlockable

[o] Network 5
[] Network subset 0
[] Service provider 0
[] Corporate 0
[] SIM 0

non classic probably japanese or carrier hard locked (impossible to unlock)

[x] Network Unlimited/255
[] Network subset 0

All counter gone (impossible to unlock)
