a colleague broke the screen of his galaxy A5.
he bought another phone.

Almost 100% sure he forgot it, your best option is to bring it back to factory settings. Then you will have to enter the Google Acc of the previous owner, to be able to use it. If he does not remember that as-well, you will have to search on Youtube for "Samsung XXXX FRP Remove" (XXXX - is the exact model) there are lot's of videos that will help remove it. It may take e few trys.
