Arnova 8G2 wifi problems

I hope someone can help me i bought my 3 year old son a Arnova 8 G2 yesterday but it cant find my router i have a netgear Wireless G WGR614 Router, it finds other wifi around where i live but can't find mine, i only want to download games for him to use it on holiday, all wifi round me are locked i just want to know if i am doin something wrong, is there another way i can connect it to the net? or can i download apps on to my laptop and transfer them over to it?? thanks for your help in advance.

Is your routers SSID hidden? You could try adding the SSID manually in the setup on the Arnova.

Yes you can download files with your laptop, then plug your Arnova in via USB and mount the Arnova as a drive, copy the files from the la[top to teh Arnova, then install locally.
