You can do it, but you will lose your Kindle functionallity and void and warrenty you have. Do a google seach for Kindle Google play update. There a few blogs and with firmware you need.

you must root it first then you can install the google play..you can find many tutorial on you-tube for that .
i install it for my kindle fire hd 7 and it work good.
